A question about lineal championship

The last one was Joe Calzaghe, he beat Hopkins who had beaten Tarver. Since Calzaghe retired, the closest one with a claim to the throne is Dawson, He beat Tomasz Adamek, Antonio Tarver(2), Glen Johnson(2).

How So? He beat the lineal champion who was Hopkins, that means he's the lineal champion.

Erdei hasn't done **** but fight guys people don't know in Germany. According to your logic Sven Ottke should be GOAT.

Eredei was a disgraceful record padder but he was lineal and that is just a fact posters should learn to accept.

Roy never beat anyone of note @ 175 until he took a close one over Tarver - and in all reality - Tarver is a nobody too....

 

When did Erdei lose it?

 

Lineal championships are the stupidest things talked about in boxing today. Everyone has a claim to lineal titles because at one point, in almost every division a lineal champ either moved up or retired leaving a vacancy.

For example.

Spinks vacates unified championship in 1983.

The first title filled after he left is the WBC, with JB williamson
the title then moves to Dennis Andries then to Hearns, then to Lalonde then back to Andries then to Harding then back to Andries (Holy **** he's a three time lineal champ, put him on a box of Wheaties!!!!) then back to Harding then to Mike Mccallum, then to Frbrice tiozzo, then to Roy Jones to Griffen then to Jones then to tarver, Hopkins and then Calzaghe. Of course there is like three vacates in that lineage.


It's stupid and irrelevant.

Jones was the best lt heavy, then Tarver, then Hopkins, then Calzaghe. Clazghe retired and now its hands down Dawson.

that's all that matters......

Neither Calzaghe nor Hopkins nor Tarver were ever lineal champs.

Roy beat an old MacCallum and Hill at lhw before Tarver. Hill is only second to Emile Griffith in championship fights fought. But Hill came of a loss to ... DM.

That's not how lineage works. Lineage after Spinks was reestablished by Hill beating Maske. Then DM beat Hill, then Gonzalez DM, then Erdei Gonzalez. That's established and recognized fact outside of some Jones fanboys.

 

Erdei is the lineal champ which is different from the Ring belt. Calzaghe was the last ring champ.
