A simple question about the Mayweather/Maidana gloves situation..

..if the gloves are approved by the Nevada State Athletic Commission (which they are, and have been used in the past by fighters like Cotto) then what right does Mayweather and his team have in whether or not Maidana can use them?

Is it now the Mayweather State Athletic Commission? If they won't fight him with those gloves his entire purse should be given to Maidana and a loss added to his record

You do know that the first pair were not approved by the commission right? and the second pair even though I dont agree with what Mayweather did, were approved by the commission and by that time Mayweather was pissed but wouldn't anyone else be too if they thought their opponent just tried to cheat?

 

if the second pair were approved, then it's irrelevant if mayweather liked them or not, tough ****.

 

Bigger name can force his opponents to sign a contract on what gloves the fight is fought with example being Morales vs Pacquiao and Maidana they had to wear Winning gloves and obviously Floyd vs Maidana being another example.

Shouldn't be that way but some time if they what the fight they are willing to gave into the demands.

So you're defending a guy who tried to cheat with "custom" gloves? Cheaters lose all their rights. The gloves were specially made for Maidana not some mass produced factory gloves for the casual boxer. Who cares if some second pair was approved, he tried to cheat with the first pair of "custom" gloves. Madonna shouldn't have been allowed to fight at all and branded as another cheat.

 

Thats not what "custom gloves" are in this context. The only thing that is different is the colors. They are made with same mold, same process, just different colored leather.

The glove thing is a non issue to me star fighters have been doing stuff like this for years didn't SRL' s demands back in the 80's gets gloves changed to add thumbs and fights changed from 15 rds to 12. So what y'all whining about pillow gloves when guys like Matthysse, Sergy ect.. stay KOing fighters with them same powerlock gloves matter fact if you look up everlast those are the 2nd hardest gloves they make how is this still relevant

Dunno Maidana should just fight with an approved pair of selected everlast mx gloves...and if Floyd runs from the fight then the blame should be on him...
