A.Ward will remain #2 p4p until somebody does something better than win the Super 6.

Head to head Froch loses to Ward just like head to head Hopkins loses to Calzaghe but that doesn't make them greater than Froch or Hopkins who are fighting and improving their records. You cannot be P4P best without fighting the best! Ward is nowhere near making a meaningful fight and therefore shouldn't even be rated at this time he is basically retired!

Froch had 1 million PPV buys and 700,000 views on HBO that's like 1.7 million if your counting non PPV too. Plus he sold out like 80-85,000 seats that's crazy.

As for mentioning Kovalev I think he and GGG still have a lot to prove.

Froch is not as talented as Ward at all but that's what makes me so pissed off. Froch is a great fighter and definitely will be an ATG. Ward I think will too but right now I cannot have him higher than Froch when he's done nothing since beating Froch. He's gone downhill I was expecting him to dismantle Bute and then moving up to LHW it pisses me off. Froch s resume is better and it keeps improving. I want to see Ward do the same and surpass Frochs resume. I think he will because Froch wil retire soon and take some money fights instead of legacy fights. When Ward gets his **** together I want him to tear things up no easy fights! I want him to become a legend like Hopkins and I want to be excited to see it happen.

 

Froch is a better draw than Ward, no one is disputing that.

But Ward is a bigger draw than both Kovalev and GGG. That you can take to the bank. :deal

Ward is far greater p4p but Froch probably does have the overall better resume.

Ward isn't far off however, I can see Ward overtaking him when his career is all said and done.

 

I was just joking around maybe a little about the drawing people as a commentator. I don't think a lot of people know Ward outside of the more hardcore fans. Was those numbers for the Dawson fight? I don't see him greater P4P wise I disagree there. I think at the end of it all he can be when he starts fighting hopefully good comp.

I am not really a Kovalev fan or a fan of GGG I have been injured to the point where I am catching up on a lot of Boxing since I was hurt like 3 years ago. So if he draws more good for him. I would like to see Ward travel and sell out stadiums fighting in big fights that can go eitheir way.

 

You can make that argument with almost everyone besides Cotto/Mayweather/Canelo/Pacquiao

P4P comes down to resume and a what have you done lately mentality. Wards resume is weaker than Frochs and he hasn't fought anyone since Froch but a walking dead Dawson. Ward fanboys like to play him up when he hasn't done anything to deserve the P4P 2 rating besides being American. I am a Ward fan and would like him to earn that ranking! Giving it to him just because will only make him lazier and entitled which he is . He feels everyone has to fight on his terms in Oakland sorry it isn't happening. I to feel at some point Ward has to be dropped or removed for inactivity the thing is if you remove Ward there is no clearcut #2 so after the obvious #1 it's a mixed bag if he's not included.

 

I agree but in order to be P4P #2 he should be beating all the top comp out there at or around his weight. He should be making a case to be # 1 when Mayweather retires or loses ( will never happen).He isn't and it's frustrating. I hate it when such great talent is being squandered.

 

After Kovaelv beats Bhop he'll overtake Ward as a draw and p4p. GGG is becoming a big draw all he needs is one big breakout fight and he can be ppv, Ward will never be PPV he's very talented but nobody will ever pay 70 bucks to watch Ward hug people.

But after Chris John fought Marquez he gradually slide down the rankings without losing by facing less than stellar opposition.

Ward claims fighters are ducking him but that's nonsense. If Ward offered a deal where he is the B side of the negations (i.e he is willing to travel, accept a lower split, move up or down in weight) I'm sure the likes of Kovalev, Stevenson, Hopkins, Pascal, Froch, Chavez Jr or Golovkin would be willing to fight him.


Yet Ward seems to think being pound for pound number 2 brings some massive negotiating advantage even though he can't sell out his own living room. He needs to look at how Martinez got Cotto and Chavez Jr into the ring and take notes.

 

If Ward drops out of the P4P list, then who is #2? I mean, Floyd is clearly #1, but who should rank just behind him?
