I'm just firing one out here. I'm interviewing him tomorrow for SecondsOut and I was just looking at his rankings.

So forget the WBA, WBO and IBF - he's out their picture.

He is ranked no.4 with WBC. Soto is fighting Rios as you know. But this will probably be Soto's last fight as he's moving up to lww. He won't fight No.1 ranked DeMarco as they're cousins apparently. Once the WBC title is vacant Reyes Sanches (silver champ) will inherit belt or fight DeMarco.

Could Murray fight DeMarco in the meantime? Can Mick and Gary Shaw do another negotiation? DeMarco aint fought since July and Murray not since Sep.

Why not have DeMarco v Murray around the same time as Soto v Rios etc and if Murray wins he'll be up there for a shot at Sanchez and the title.

Unless DeMarco goes down the IBF path :huh

Or will Murray lose patience and give a yes to a Khan fight next year? (He's on Schaefer's list of opponents for Khan's next fight, due to be in the UK, in 2011)

I think he will get beaten by Soto and Rios.

That might not be relevant. Coz if Soto beats Rios which I think he will he's gonna move up to lww. Rios won't get another shot immediately so that takes him off Murray's radar.

There's nothing been reported to the contrary.

There have been Warren rumours, Hatton rumours... but there's been nothing confirmed. It'd have been a big boxing story and we all would've known.

can't see that mate. Assuming Kahn beats Maidana, I reckon Kahn will fight in the UK next but not against Murray, he's just not moving in those circles IMHO.

I agree. But if 'Schaefer's List' (that reads dodgy) amounts to nothing and they're desperate and Murray ain't had owt it might happen. I agree the chances are slim. Would just rather see Murray mixing it with a DeMarco than moving up to 140.

Why would Soto move up, it looked like he was just content defending the WBC at lightweight. He doesn't look tight at the weight.

Annoys me no end when i hear commentators bang on about "The English fighter who is 30-0" and that nonsense.

He'll get smoked when he faces the big boys.

soto is ****, he struggled and was almost out of there at 1 point against antillion, i think lower profile guys like acosta and vasquez are better then him and rios will slice soto in half should they ever fight, why the hell do u think sotos been ranking up wins against journeymen of late ever since his loss to guzman he's been mainly fighting outside the top 10

It is really irritating when commentators mention someone's nationality and their record.
