Carlos was the better boxer, and the body beating he'd inflict would be lethal. Pryor would obviously charge out to the early lead, but over the championship distance, Palomino would overtake him by the final bell. He was actually more slightly accomplished over the championship distance than the lighter Arguello was, and more durable.
i like both fighters but palomino's body punching was something else.he absolutely ruined dave boy green who was a crude but tough battler
King Carlos wasn't a great fighter but styles make fights. I think Pryor was tailor made for Carlos. Pryor was quicker but easy to hit. Carlos was a natural welterweight and Aaron may have been slowed down trying to fight at welterweight so any quickness advantage may not be pronounced. Plus Carlos had a strong chin. Duran's best straight right could only produce a flash knockdown and Duran never seriously hurt him in that fight. Carlos' body attack is the key here. I think he stops Pryor anytime after the 12th.
Palomino was physically very strong in addition to his fundamental soundness and body attack. He walked Duran to the ropes on a few occasions. I think this fight is very close, but I'd go for Palomino.
