No it's not. But thanks for giving me a far more conclusive piece of guesswork than I could ever have imagined, I've learned a lot, thanks. Not like Hurtado managed to drop Tszyu shortly after. And Pryor would do better down the stretch.
A competitive slugfest for much of the fight. But, Pryor turns it up a notch and takes it late through nonstop aggression. UD Hawk.
Tszyu getting sold way short again. Pryor was no defensive genius and Tszyu had one of the harder more accurate straight rights you would see. If anyone thinks Pryor walks through Tszyu's best shots then they're talking **** imo. He put Chavez on the floor and even that far past his prime that's fair evidence of Kostya's punch because Chavez' chin was a rock. As great as Arguello was, he wasn't a natural 140 pounder, Tszyu was. Not to mention being possibly the physically strongest bloke to campaign at the weight at his best. I just don't see him being overwhelmed although I can see why others do. The Hatton fight showed Tszyu struggling with a relentless high pressure fighter and Pryor is a lot better than Ricky to be fair. That said Tszyu was 35 and rusty as hell that night. He'd only fought 9 rounds in 3 years going in and he was ripe to be beaten by a Ricky Hatton that was primed and in a zone. A peak Tszyu with the snap on his punces and his accuracy and timing there (see the Tszyu of the Gonzalez, Ruales fights) likely beats Hatton. Pryor was a physical freak and his unorthodoxy and brilliance makes him a nightmare for anyone (including Kostya) but Tszyu was great in his own right and no soft touch for anyone, even one as good as Pryor. I make it a pick'em.
Possibly. Frankie could whack no doubt about it. Even though he floored Chavez in the first fight I don't think Julio was that badly hurt but in the rematch Frankie clearly hurt Chavez badly on a number of occasions and was definately looking the goods for a stoppage depite not getting a knockdown. For a couple of years there Frankie Randall was a real force and a h2h nightmare for anyone. A bloody good fighter.
I think the kd in the first fight was chilling. Tszyu didn't stop old Uncle Rog'. You'd have thought that would be a given.
That was a poor showing by Tszyu but Roger was strictly in survival mode that night and pretty much tied Tszyu up whenever he looked like unloading anything on him. Kostya had only had about a dozen or so fights and Roger was crafty enough to keep Tszyu at bay whereas Kostya looked at a loss how to deal with his tactics. It was a real pro vs amateur contest at times although not a close fight at all. Tszyu improved greatly after this but got even better after the shocker with Vince Phillips.
If they were the same size I'd pick Pryor's pressure to undo Tyszu, but Tyszu was a rehydrated 150-155lbs and very very strong and obviously a puncher, where as Pryor was a blown up lightweight. Given there will be plenty of exchanges I've goto go with the bigger man. Then again Pryor has his ephedrine to keep him firing on all cylinders
True, Kostya was very strong physically. Kostya always was a weight-drainer but he never looked like a big light welterweight to me, PP. He gained weight between the fights cuz he loved his homemade beer too much.
Homemade beer? He's just gone up in my estimation He wasn't by near the worst for weight draining, also I don't think he was a fleshy 140lber, far from it, just very strong at the weight but not at all rangy, not that that matters against Pryor He also put up 275lbs in the C&J and Bench, and those are real numbers not the usual banded about BS, for a 140lber doubling bodyweight in those 2 is pretty damn strong
All I know for certain is that this would be one hell of a fight. I think Tszyu has a much better chance than some are giving him. It's 50/50 to me. If I had to pick I'd say Pryor by UD.
