I thought the first fight was more controversial, I had GGG clearly winning the rematch, close but clear. What I'm getting at is Sanchez has took the loss as a man, same with Gennady, especially considering the 2 failed tests etc in the run up and the decision being controversial......Team Canelo never even acted this way when they pissed hot twice.
First fight at best was a draw. Canelo did enough to win the 2nd and Sanchez was fine with the decision stating GGG didn't follow the game plan. We just have to give Canelo the credit he deserves.
After all the trash this guy spewed about Mexican style only for his fighter to get backed up the whole fight, he better have swallowed that humble pie in one gulp.
Oh I give him credit no doubt about that, again I didn't have him winning either fight but I thought in both fights they both put in excellent performances. I preferred their rematch personally.
But he never went backwards at all, neither fighter had their backs on the ropes.....he was on the move but never going backwards.
Moving backwards doesnt mean running, if you take two steps back it still counts as moving back. He conceded ground for damn near the whole fight thats a fact, Malinaggi brought this 'his back never touched the ropes once' crap up. First of all fighters can win a fight, fighting off the ropes just watch the rumble in the jungle. Second of all if you challenge someone to meet you in the middle of the ring and they back you up for the whole fight, it is a fair criticism for people to say you never did what you said you was gunna do.
We tried to tell this guys but they just wouldnt listen. Now they cant accept the fact that their guy lost in an close fight.
It will always be like this. Bellew could be down 10 rounds and pull out a miracle stoppage but there will always be the " USYK was winning doe" threads being made..smfh
You know what in that situation I might understand it more than this situation, where the guy who they claim was gunna stop Canelo was backed up the whole fight by the smaller man who was 'off the juice and weaker now'. They did the same thing Kovalev vs Ward 2, I rarely bet against the better boxer when it comes to rematch unless there is a significant size difference nowadays.
Getting backed up — bull****. GGg fought from the outside, controlling the fight with his jab. And stepping in with big shots when it was right. It’s called distance control. And in the 2nd half he was pressing backing Canelo up. Back foot ??? You don’t know boxing.
Against Canelo you need a KO to win. GGG won both fights on points, but decision went to home fighter of course.
But both fighters fought their respective fights in the centre of the ring.....to say Golovkin was backing up the whole fight is just being anal.
