I'm a Mares fan.....but if rigo boxes like he did tonight he would win 8-4 or an easy 7-5.

Rigo would destroy Mares. Stoppage win. Mares is a tough little guy but his style is made for a beatdown by Rigondeaux.

    I'd prefer Garcia-Rigondeaux.

Mares vs Rigondeaux will not be a fight. It will be a CHASE. Mares chasing the scared Cuban running like a girl all night.

Abner Mares will do better than Donaire. He'll actually pressure Rigodeux and not try to outbox him like Doniare did. He'll make it a war.

If the fight doesn't happen is because Arum doesn't want it to happen.

Mares wont win a round, when Mares gets close Rigo will just slip away or clinch him, Mares has to get close to punch we saw what happened when Donaire tried to get close, he got his eye ****ed up and hit with hard counters

It's more of a question of who is willing to go up in weight or go down in weight. If Mares beats PDL he'll stay and become number one in the division.

Rigo by looking at the size difference that Donaire had towards him looks to seem that he won't be moving weight classes.

Point is, there is a slight chance that it could happen. But not enough to get out hopes up.

This, true cubans that are unbiased know that a teen abner mares.. made it a close fight with Rigo, but rigo ultimately clearly won the amateur fight..

    I'll tell you thing... Stylistically

Abner mares has a better shot, then Donaire with his trying to outbox a much better boxer who born and bred with the counter punching and boxing... while donaire has been relying on his punch.
