isnt it funny how abraham was complaining that every shot that landed on the belt was hurting his balls, then he hits dirrell with an obviously illegal shot and dirrell is a brilliant actor personally im gona hold my tongue, i dont want to go around saying dirrell was definetly acting then tomorrow hearing that dirrell suffered a concussion, because then id look like an ass
Whether or not Dirrell exaggerated or wanted a free pass out of the fight is a different issue. However, I think what AA did was indefensible and Cole actually got it right this time by DQing him.
good logic my man. i couldn't have said it better myself and i will try to make sure i don't fall into that category.
Mayweather couldnt continue when Judah hit him below the belt, but fight was not stopped and Judah did not lost by DQ because of that.
Stop it. You're embarrassing yourself. 'Quacking' 'in an obvious sign of dissaproval? So you mean you have no idea what they were saying? This entire thread is speculation; your above statement is ridiculous. Abraham got what he deserved. Just because other fighters have escaped without a dq loss, doesn't mean that in this instance the ref was incorrect. However that knockdown not being given in the tenth was a joke, and opens the door for claims of bias.
Abraham was having his best spell of the fight, thats for sure but nobody can excuse what he did.It was a hard shot and Abraham has been in boxing long enough to know that kind of thing gets you thrown out.Dirrel had won pretty much every round up to the 10th and was still avoiding most of Abraham`s shots.Im a Abraham fan and wanted him to win but i honestly think Dirrel would have got through the last 2 rounds and won the fight.
Nonsense... check it out dude, AA was separating after cornering and connecting to AD's chin. If you'd think mean of the incompetent ref, you could make a case for helping Dirrel get out of trouble.
That's my sentiment exactly. What a dumbass AA who robbed himself of possibility of becoming a really great legend with another late KO.
YES the ref was ****, but people on here acting like he had a choice as to if he should stop the fight or not... get a clue man, Dirrell was gone after that punch. AA has just made himself the pantomine villian of the Super 6.
The rules don't say that fighter must be hurt by the punch for the man who threw it to be DQ'd. Whether Dirrell acted or not makes no difference. The referee determined that the punch by Abraham was intentional, stating that Abraham knew Dirrell was down and still threw it anyway. The DQ was deserved and would still have been deserved had Dirrell been unaffected by it.
I think the following: 1 - Abraham got overexcited in the championship rounds because he was starting to really take it to Dirrell, and threw an illegal shot when Dirrell had slipped/KD'd. It was the kind of shot that typically results in a DQ, I don't find that surprising...RJJ lost to Griffin by almost the exact same way. 2 - I don't think there's any doubt that Dirrell hammed it up a bit he looked like he was playing in the world cup with that dive.
We'll never know the outcome of the fight because of a foul, and yes.. Cole didn't do a flawless job, but we can't put the entire blame on him. I personally think that Abraham was coming closer and was going to score that knockout, but then again, Dirrell boxed beautifully and was clearly ahead on the scorecards. They'll fight again hopefully.
