The temerity he showed vs Stevens and Froch would lead one to believe that he will perform similarly against Abraham. Arthur is so much better than those two, it is just hard for me to see Andre winning.
I am still trying to figure out how Goosen out smarted the other promoters to give Ward home field advantage for all 3 fights.Hennesey is an idiot-that's a given, but Sauerland,Shaw and DiBella are shrewd ****ers. They must know something I don't.:huh
two things to say to this post. One, you don´t have a clue about boxing. Two, your laughable hate for Sauerland-fighters continue. Go back to the Klitschko-HP-board and stay away from here.
What do you think how Abraham landed his big shots on Taylor, who was in much better shape than vs. Froch ? By standing flatfooted and throwing ? Abraham always throws out of moving, even jumping into his opponents to close the gap, something Ward did on Kessler who had no answer to it too - what other than footwork would you call that ? A one-dimensional fighter who wins every round he wants and outboxes Taylor, the man who outboxed Hopkins twice. Yeah, he is really one-dimensional, the only dimension he knows is WINNING.
I'm not sure who wins this one. It's a major style clash. Abraham has to keep more offensive minded than he has in some previous fights. However, those were at 160 when he was likely trying to conserve energy. I can see Dirrell going in-and-out and winning a close decision, but he needs to vary his punches in the sense of punching from multiple angles to deal with Abraham's defensive shell. There is always the danger of getting caught by a huge counter from AA when Andre is moving in to score. Who's knows if he can take AA's punches. Andre also must be more assertive offensively, but it will be risky against a huge puncher. He does have the speed to "swim without getting wet", if he fights smart for 12. He has to use a lot of side-to-side movement. He has very fast feet to do this. Anything to keep AA off balance. AA may need to try to bully Dirrell, cut-off the ring, and try and corner him to be more effective. It's hard to know what to expect in this one and I kind see scenarios in which either wins. That is something that has me anticipating this one with some excitement. The unknown.
IMO the toughest fight out there for Abraham. Its a pickem fight to me but I can't help but feel that Dirrell will get suckered into some huge punch. Abraham's power is unreal.
Good analysis jeff. If dirrell fights like that for 12 it's still not gonna win him fans. Alot of side to side movement and backpedaling with potshotting mixed in his how he beat stevens, and that was an awful fight to watch. I actually hope dirrell comes to fight so he gets ko'd
Just trying to be funny - but for real! Dirrell impressed me. Lots of talent, speed and movements. Abraham is like "a German tank", solid shelter, small steps forward, hard punches and some lethal left hooks. But home advantage is the key factor in this tournaments................:blood
