Abraham is a destroyed fighter could likely see retirement

He crowded Kessler a lot as well though. I'd say he'd want even less against Abraham, whose only chance is to hit you with something big. I can't see him leading Ward onto one of his looping shots, only chance is to hit him from a few inches.

Ward should stay consistantly mobile I reckon.

 

Think he'll beat Abraham any way he chooses really. Abraham can't work on the inside or outside. All he does is load up shots whenever he can, not really any method to it. Can't see Abraham being sneaky enough to land a short shot up close, its not really in his box of tricks. Smothering his power is likely to work quite well.

 

Down against Darnell Boone. Not sure if it was a flash or what but no shaky moments against guys like Miranda so I believe it's ok.

I think against AA we'll see him box on the outside (which he's very adept at imo) for the first 6 or 7 rounds with flashes of inside fighting. Once AA is broken again mentally I think he'll switch it up and fight on the inside a bit more often and win a wide-ass UD. 120-108 ish. Thing with Ward is, he doesn't need to fight on the inside at all but it's in his mentality and make-up to do such

Not too alarming IMO, got caught when his feet got muddled. Haven't seen him make too many mistakes like that since he's stepped up.

 

He worked in close against Kessler as well, I think he'll do a lot less of that against AA.

 

The Bika fight was far from a masterclass, very underwhelming performance, still Ward should win this pretty easily. AA just has lost/or had it beaten out of him, his offensive mojo, the guy is now literally a slow moving human punch bag it seems, that once explosive offense has been unfortunately tamed for good.........hope I'm wrong though

 

Ward is not as great as you think green took a thorough thrashing from a 41 year old journeyman and bika had allot of strong moments against him, its nor like ward dominated him start to finish, as for kessler headbutts played a big role in that fight, i think he looses to bute, i even think glenn johnson would give him something to think about.

He didn't take a thorough thrashing off Johnson up until the stoppage. I had it level. Whereas Andre did not drop a round. His power is average but we know that already.

 

His offense is no different to what its always been. Fine if he's got Euro stiffs walking towards him that are easy to find. Anybody with a clue about range or defence and Abraham is struggling, his footwork is shite. Froch is not as hard to hit as Abraham made it appear, thats his own limitations rather than him having lost anything. I expect to see the same old abraham with the ear muffs on looking to get lucky.

 

how do we think Ward would cope at light heavy, especially with his lack of power?

 

I think Ward will jump on him and take it inside straight away while AA is taking his usual 5 rounds to warm up. If AA starts having any success, then he'll switch to keeping his distance and pick him apart from there.

Everyone has been saying that for years now, he may be set in his ways a little too much now.

 

Look how weak he looked at Middle. Right move to go up 8lbs and he went through 2 rounds there to see fight out.

I think he will look to show off once he gets rounds in. Show off skills not showboat i think he will look to unbalance AA. It's going to be extremely hard to out do what Froch did to AA really.

He doesn't have Froch's long arms so i don't expect a jab clinic i expect him to use alot of foot movements and offset AA on way in.

AA might as well go for it tbh....i dunno what he will do which is dangerous in itself but dunno it's hard to look past a 120-108. In saying that AA did start to get to Dirrell late on and Ward doesn't hurt people with shots like Froch so there may be a period in bout where AA comes on strong and tags Ward at some point but Ward is ultra professional and will see out bout.
