An ad hoc rationalization is a faulty explanation cooked up to save a favored hypothesis. Because I pointed out in the beginning that the situation I'm describing varies from case to case, I was not making an ad hoc rationalization.
people say AA had a broken jaw that is why Miranda went the 12 in their first fight... uh.. excuse me, miranda broke that jaw up - AA didn't getting a broken jaw through some inconvenient accident, some tendecy to suddenly have a broken jaw or through a fault other than mirandas beating his ass miranda was busting that ass and jaw - literally pavlik probably did change mirandas psychology - how could he have not of with those devastating punches he put upon miranda - the guy hired a nutritionist - you could see he looked very low fat and he also looked tight not to say that AA is not a decent fighter
Yes the thing is if it really was true that Pavlik damaged Miranda for good, how could you prove it. You cant.
The only thing I can prove is that AA has dozens of screws holding titanium plates in his jaw. What I can't prove is that Pavlik is likely to loosen them up a bit should they fight. Should be fun.
The phenomenon is well known in boxing. It always has been discussed by fighters themselves, and by experts and fans.
You do realise Abraham beat his ass first, and stunned him numerous times? So if anything, Pavlik only beat him because Abraham softened him up Its also great Pavlik doesn't have to be in the arena or even scheduled to fight to earn another W
It did not appear as if Miranda suffered any psychological damage from the Pavlik fight. First couple of rounds was an exact repeat of their first fight. Miranda was very confident coming in, though I found it weird he didn't look at Abraham in the eyes... to me, in boxing, that is weird. A good example of psychological damage after a knockout would be that of Roy Jones Jr. post Tarver. In regards, to Miranda, he was attacking from the beginning to end (until he got knocked down). It just seems like he got rocked and rocked bad. The second knock down was nasty, with the head snapping back and Miranda falling back like he did. But, he seemed to be unsteady legs from the first punch that Abraham landed cleanly earlier. I believe it was in the third round where he kind of buckled. When i saw that, i thought holy crap this could be a short night for Miranda.
LIKE IT OR NOT, THIS "SO CALLED PHENOMENOM" IS JUST A THEORY, AND IT WILL REMAIN LIKE THAT UNTIL SCIENTIFICALLY PROVEN, WHICH WILL PROBABLY BE NEVER.... THE FACT IS THAT A MATCH BETWEEN PAVLIK AND ABRAHAM IS NECESSARY IF EITHER FIGHTER WANTS TO CALL HIMSELF THE REAL CHAMP OF THE DIVISION. BY WHAT I SAW LAST NIGHT , I THINK AA WINS A CLOSE DEC. AND EVEN MAYBE A TKO IN THE LATER RDS. THIS GUY'S DEFENSE IS IMPRESSIVE, ADD NICE POWER TO THAT AND U HAVE THE INGREDIENTS FOR A CHAMP AND A NICE BOXING RECORD... BTW, I LIKE PAVLIK A LOT AND WAS ROOTING FOR MIRANDA LAST NIGHT... JUST SAYING THINGS LIKE I SEE THEM, GOTTA GIVE CRED. WHERE CRED. IS DUE. ABRAHAM IS NOT JT.
