Firstly, his style isn't "amateurish"; he couldn't win a single amateur fight like this. Secondly, this style is hardly boring, as he always stages a comeback after very slow initial couple of rounds. It takes a lot of balls to give away the first few rounds in every fight, simply trusting in your own strength.
I thought it was a great start to the tourney. Granted Abraham starts slow but he genuinely outboxed Taylor and KO'd the guy in the last 10 seconds.
Hes alot better than i thought he would be...but I prefer more skilled technical-type boxers. AA´s style simply bores me to death.
I have never been a big fan of that style which seems so popular from german based fighters. But it is very effective but also very predictable. I was suprised how such an experienced fighter like Taylor was so easily forced into fighting Abrahams fight.
I'm not a fan of his style either but I can appreciate it. I tend to agree with the commentators though that his offensive is very inconsistent, but IMO that is what makes him somewhat unpredictable, you dont really know when he's going to come out from that defensive shell. Anyways, props to him
Yeah me too. Hats off to AA. I was shocked at how bad Taylor was perfoming, especially in the second half of the fight.
Typical. atsch So many people make that silly statement when describing that style. It's not very easy mate.
true but any idiot isnt smart enough to know when to punch against a fighter as talented as taylor. it was AA's aggression that won the fight, but it was taylor's unwillingness to be aggressive himself that allowed AA to control it in later rounds.
