Murray's getting a lot of credit for landing punches on arms and gloves, in fairness.

Murray can have no complaints...maybe if he came to fight he could won it. Playing peek a boo like Barker for the first 6 rounds will not win with the judges.

Can't help thinking Murray left it on the table ...then again if he had fought early on he probably would have got sparked - fought scared.

Credit to Macklin at least he took it to Sergio.

Martinez prouncing about, kept thinking he was going to break into the Macarena! P4P top 5 don't make me laugh! if that was in the UK Murray would of won by a landslide

    1) it wasn't in the UK
    2) a landslide on either side would have been a robbery
    3) losing a close decision in a close fight where you allow the home fighter to sweep the first five round and then at least two of the closing three is not a robbery
    4) Murray was within a point after eight rounds and didn't keep working. That's on him, not anyone else.

Murray didnt deserve to win by a landslide, end of story.

Its sad all those crying foul at the judges but if it happened the other way round in England its fine.

Just hypocrites all over, and sad bitter people.

I thought Murray probably won but that's what happens when one guy has 50,000 fans cheering every punch. They influence the decision massively, so whilst I may not agree with the judges, I can see why Martinez got the nod. It's just part of the game and completely understandable. It was a close fight, anyway, so there's no room for comments like "robbery" or whatever. I'd like to see a rematch but I doubt we'll get one.

Murray was unlucky about the second knockdown though. That decision could have cost him millions.

OBVIOUS home town decision....Martinez and his team celebrating at the end like Argentina had just won the World Cup was frankly very embarrassing.......he got beat the **** up! he knows he's a very lucky boy.....

Murrays punches were far more cleaner and effective. plus flash punches doesnt always mean they`re good they just kinda look good

I agree mate now I've calmed down. Still feel Murray defo won though, without a doubt. Went over the top though caused I felt so pissed off for him. He may never get another title fight now because he'll be in the "who needs him?" club.

Sergio wont want to know GGG, but i bet you Murray would fight him as long as the fight isnt in america due to visa issues

If you really think that was a clear decision, why didn't Murray think so? Why didn't he step on the gas when he knew there was only a point in it after eight rounds? Why didn't he keep on Martinez if he'd really hurt him?

Not seven round's worth of cleaner and more effective, I'm afraid. He lost eight rounds IMO - the first five and the last three (although that KD should have counted to give a draw).

I don't see any controversy in Murray losing a close fight, when he really has only himself to blame for letting it get away from him.

I had all my Vcash on Sergio winning. I watched the fight on Skype with Hoshi, Garrus and Artful, as we did for Rigo-Donaire, Canelo-Trout and other fights. We had our disagreements on rounds with those fights, but we watched Martinez-Murray as non-partisan fans and all of us had a clear and comfortable decision for Murray, even without the bull**** slip that should have been a knockdown. Sergio was hitting air or gloves all night long and looked terrible in doing so, and was clearly looking for favours from the ref. Anyone who says otherwise is an idiot.

After the first 6 rd i had 4-2 to Martinez, it was a close fight and can be scored either way due to interpretation. If you look across the forum opinion is split down the centre by many respected boxing fans and twitter. I can understand why you see it the way you do though, but i`m not being fooled by Martinez`s flash but at times ineffective work.

All in all Murray must be given credit bigtime as after this fight his stock has risen
