Murray won that fight, the fact that they rewatched the second knock down and called it a slip shows how dirty the whole situation was. People who saw Martinez as the winner obviously expected it to be one way traffic and were giving the champ the benefit in close rounds. Martinez backed off with his hands down and landed nothing, that's not how you win a fight - champion, hometown or not. IMO of course.
I had Murray a point up going into the last two rounds which I scored to Martinez so he took it by a point on my card. Was a close fight and could have gone either way but Murray just let it slip in 11 and 12 similar to how bellew did against cleverly. The second kd would've made it a draw on my card but apparently there was a lot of water on the ring canvas from the rain and I think they gave Martinez the benefit of the doubt as there wasn't a clear clean punch landed to put him down. Murray comes out looking good though and getting lots of publicity because of the decision so all in all good nights work for him.
I mean, Martin told Max Kellerman that he didn't do enough and Sergio deserved the win. The same people who said Trout obviously lost because he said he did will surely feel the same about this fight, right?
I do think Murray got it. Criminal not to score the second KD. Just looked on youtube and Argentine tV had Murray up by a point at the end and thats not even counting the KD that wasn't called. Anyays, lets give Murray a lot of credit. Came as a big underdog but executed a wicked game plan! Great tight guard, and landed a lot of good shots. Fought away from home, in the lions den, and muted the crowd at times. Put the champ on his backside twice too! Fantastic performance, let's not get lost in the controversy as we know he was never getting a decision, and take your hat off to the lad! Great performance.
Have always thought Golovkin was a lot better than Martinez,and thats the prime one.Hes also the only middleweight Id definitely back to beat Murray.
Nope, i thought murray didnt do enough to win and i thought trout lost easily. I would t ofhad a problem if murray won, martinez didnt exactly light up the night up whereas i thought alvarez was superb :smooch

Murray made a great fight... it was just not enough. To cry robbery in a close fight like this is just stuipid sorry. Murray deserves another big fight. Lets hope he get Geale.
Wish I'd actually scored the fight now. I think the key to the scores is in the first 6. A lot of people on the RBR was going with Murray's cleaner work to the head. While others preferred Martinez work rate and body work he was landing the left hand to the body very regularly in my opinion. I think I might of had it 5-1 or 4-2 with Martinez taking 9,11,12. Close fight I thought the cards were acceptable could of been closer but for Murray to have a case I think he would of needed that 2nd kd scored. Still confused how they can review it on replay and still say a slip.
After 8, murray was down on all 3 scorecards. Can anyone really argue that he went out and won at least 3 of the last 4 decisively enough to be robbed? Not a chance. Yes others might have a different score after 8 but there can't seriously be too much dispute, can there? As has been said, Martinez was dominant at the start, murray didn't really get going until 5 or 6
:deal Murray knew from the open scoring that he needed to impress down the stretch and he just didn't quite have it in him. A valiant effort from Murray but Martinez did enough.
But, but, but... Murray was the underdog so he deserves extra credit. Hometown scoring had nothing to do with this, and from some reports it seems the ref felt Martinez slipped because the ring was wet.
