Adelaide Byrd's card for Hopkins-Calzaghe was probably her finest moment.
It really didn't matter what the score said. The two of them were lucky to end up with any points !

If I recall, there were a boatload of people on this forum and many others arguing emphatically that they thought Hopkins won.

    No, that was Hopkins.
He had Calzaghe on the floor. Round 1.

to be fair, if Calzaghe hadnt lowblowed Hopkins after getting clean knocked the f down by the way superior boxer, then it might well have ended in round 1.

The British TV broadcasters commentary team had Hopkins winning the fight.

So you're saying you thought Hopkins won, correct? The two other judges had it 116-111 and 115-112 fairly wide for Calzaghe. Would you say that Byrd had the far most accurate score of the 3 judges?

    Yep!!!

The Hopkins-Calzaghe card is wrong in my opinion, but not inexplicable like 118-110 or some of her other terrible scorecards.

i mean just after, Joe admitted to lowblowing hopkins, needing to cheat to stop getting knocked out in round 1.

That would have been a poor end to his career, getting easily KOed by a 40something who hadnt stopped anyone in years, so joe had to cheat his way out, being without a cardiff ref to award him a fake tko after throwing three harmless arm punches.

Wrong. While he did a lot of shoe shining, his shots visibly bothered Hopkins at times later into the fight - hence faking being low blowed, whining to the ref in a bid to bide time.

You are beyond delusional when it comes to Calzaghe, as bad as Dinovelvet is with Klitschko.

Now isn't that something, with Calzaghe being a hometown fighter. That sounds quite unbiased for British TV broadcasters to score it for Hopkins. That would indicate that there might be something to the argument that Hopkins won. Then again it's no surprise that American media / broadcasters tend to prefer come forward fighters (with the exception of Mayweather of course).

Oh, he might have landed something then.
I'll give him a point for the low blow ! (I know I'm not supposed to)
That makes the first round only 10-9 to Hopkins.

Now, I can't exactly give Calzaghe any more rounds for flapping away like a diseased pigeon in a vain attempt to learn to punch, can I ?

But which was closer to reality, 114-113, or 115-112/116-111?? If you thought Joe won, how many rounds did you think he won by? Most I think would side with Byrd in that fight at least in terms of closeness. I doubt many people even those that thought Calzaghe won saw him winning by 5 pts or even 3 pts.

so in calling ME delusional, YOU are denying the actual words that joe calzaghe spoke admitting he lowblowed hop to survive yeh?

that says it all. there is no need for me to reply to you again, your own hero destoryed your argument for me.

I'd have to rewatch, from memory I had Calzaghe close. 1pt or 3pts, I can't remember which as it was a while ago. I don't really have a huge problem with the scorecards, none of them are crazy.

This is nothing like some of Adalaide Byrd's other cards, including 118-110 and some utterly bizarre decisions in MMA too.
