Premiere (the German station that went bankrupt) tried. They tried with Formula 1, they tried with German premier league soccer, they tried boxing with Michalczewski. It didn't work.

There is no market for "premium" TV in Germany. Germans don't like paying extra. They want free TV, nothing else. That's just how the market is, Haye or Wlad won't change that.

I'm not being ****ish or anything CHEF but how do you think PPV started in the UK? 20 years ago it just didn't exist and now it's huge business.

Is it really beyond the realms of possibility for it to catch on in Germany? If so then this fight would be the perfect vehicle to kick-start it surely....regardless of all this 'ducking' nonsense talk maybe it's something to be looked into?

Also, we all know that WALDO gets paid a certain amount by German TV for the fights he has on TV there....did he offer to put his 50% of this into the pot or was it just a case of "I want half the British PPV and the fight will be shown in Germany on my channel for nothing"

It's a relevent point in my humble opinion - if Haye has to give up half his revenue then the same should apply for WALDO.

    I will ask again

What is Haye putting into the pot?

Haye wants nothing less then 50% of wlad but 100% of himself

Haye is not a Lewis or Tyson, this isn't a man wanting to tear through the division no matter what the cost, this is a businessman, your point is mute.

What you think I'm debating from a boxing pov?? Of course not, I'm doing it from a business one, and from that angle it doesn't make sense. The man who puts most in gets the bigger share, that's the fact of the sport we love today. I've changed my stance for Manny Mayweather I'll be damned if I'm changing it back for Wlad Haye.

    Of course.

The way I understood Finkel and Bönte is that they said all revenues (all TV money worldwide, live gate, merchandising, sponsoring etc. etc.) go into a big pot ("the purse") and then both fighters get an even split ("50-50") from this pot.

Unfortunately - according to Booth - Haye and his partners at Sauerland found this proposal unacceptable.

Straight up what are they both putting in the pot?
    If Haye is putting in
more he deserves more, if it's Wlad then Wlad deserves more, if equal.. Well, you get the drift.

So because German fans won't shell out British fans should make up the difference because we do, is that what you're saying?

From a business point of view fighting a Klitschko only makes sense for Haye if he considers the added money he can earn afterwards, after being crowned undisputed champion of the division.

That doesn't seem to cross Haye's mind though, he seems to want one big payday at the end of his career, much like Ibragimov. Hey Iggy was a smart businessman wasn't he? Made $10 million in one of the worst fights in HW history and then retired

see that what I dont get.

"worldwide TV" Wlads fights are in 108 countries... and haye wants 50% of that... who do you think is the draw in those countries.. they have been in those countries for YEARS... yet 50% to Haye????

50% of worldwide TV =50% of UKPPV

So let me get this straight, the most stable economy in Europe, with the largest population won't shell out a few extra quid for sporting Heros?

Well pardon my French, **** them, they should. In this day and age it's a ridiculous notion.
