In an ideal world adamek wouldn't fight at all but a minimum risk fight is the next best option. Especially for someone like adamek.

Took me a page of reading before i realized i was thinking of Peter McNeely not Kevin McBride. The Nicolai guy sounds a better fit but this sounds like another keep busy without ruining the chance for Klitschko, it's a bummer to have what two of these in a row but eh. I'd hafta think this would happen in Poland though.

    right:good

At least Mcbride is tall. He will work good as a punch bag  Adamek has scheduled a fight with the best in the division, so he is cautious.

It's about styles. Stylistically adamek is not the same fighter he was at cruiserweight. He is much more technical now, has very little power and has a vulnerable chin.

Now I would expect him to beat vitali. I would expect him to get destroyed off solis or wlad. And I would expect him to be evens with the rest of the top ten.

No point him risking his lottery ticket. As I said, he could just stay inactive.

Are you jealous or what? Adamek was going to fight in the IBF eliminator with a top10 Peter and then with a top10 Chambers. Then he signed a fight with Wlad, because Haye didnt want to fight Wladimir. He was smart and used the opportunity to fight a Klitschko. He doesnt need to lose that opportunity. To explain you what I mean: Adamek may beat a solid contender, but in the tough fight he might get injured or cut badly.

    Jealous? Why would I be?

Just pointing out that if fighting top-10 contenders is too risky what his changes against Klitchko are.

For the record I hope he beats Klitchkos, I like his activity and fighting style

True but guy who is going to beat Klitchkos, should have no problems going against rest of top-10

Lets have it right here. We can demand people like pac, floyd, martinez, hopkins, marquez, montiel, donaire, wlad(basically the top ten p4p) etc. Fight the best week in week out. But it is obvious that adamek is not only past prime, but also beyond his prime weight.

He earned a top 5 place with victories over golota, estrada and arreola. Since then he has protected his ranking and if received **** for it. Well now he has a contract with a klitschko and risking that fight is not only stupid, but bad for us fans.

some of the gob shite's on here should show some respect to fighters. yes- he is past it, yes- it is an tune up fight and an easy win but cop on to yourselves. mcbride was the youngest ever super heavyweight in the olympics, an irish amateur and professional champion and retired mike tyson (albeit a shot one). he achived more than anyone posting here ever will.

this fight makes sense for both sides - for adamek it'll be an easy fight but a good work out against an oppontent who will be well known to his polish fans from the golota and tyson fights.

for mcbride it's another (possibly last ever) shot at the bigtime

Adamek has got the fight he wanted signed with the Klits. He was hardly going to fight a dangerous opponent next. His next fight is merely a stay active, fine tuning fight for him. Atleast he's fighting a bum to make sure he gets in the ring vs the Klits. Haye prefers to fight bums in order to avoid them.
