Searching is an ordeal? Are you insane? It takes TWO SECONDS. Whether it's a bit of fun or not...it takes all of TWO SECONDS (as opposed to the minutes people are already spending poring over Boxrec or whatever other source). What part of that isn't getting through to you?

You can not compare using Boxrec to skipping the search function. Boxrec isn't an absolute authority but it's as close to one as exists, at least among online encyclopedic volumes of boxing lore. The margin of error in using it for something like this, especially with modern fighters for whom far more accurate record-keeping was available - is going to be negligible. Skipping the search function is just ******ed. The only excuse is being ******ed or shamefully lazy.

If you have time to look a record up, either by Boxrec or more exhaustive means - you have TWO SECONDS to use the search function.

    Bunch of lazy pricks...

Very crass language, I work with people with learning difficulties, and find that a little disappointing coming from someone I believe is pretty smart and articulate with their opinion.

I suspect you are writing with a passion, rather than a prejudice, being lazy with your verbs, like you think many others are on this thread.;)

I'm so glad you're making the world a better place and at the same time therefore having the high ground on the internet, strangely about completely unrelated topics. Funny how that works.

If you're going to be a douche bag, don't be an even bigger one by thinly veiling it with that kind of pseudo moral high ground bull****.

Let's plan to do it one of these weekends. I am sick of not being able to hold boxing conversations with friends my age...non of my friends have ever even heard of a fighter like Ezzard Charles. :nut. I have been to Foxwoods before, and would love to go back. Had a great time, last time.

Ps I'm a lot more mellow and laid back in real life

Yeah, me too. Things don't translate particularly well onto the internet.

I'm about the most mellow thing this side of a passed out heroin addict in real life.

    :huh

Where have you been for the last four years? I think myself on some moral high ground, even a pseudo one, has long since past. Although I have been known to mock and belittle, I never resort to crass language in my name calling.;)

Yes, I do write with a passion when there are matters of principle afoot (even if the principle may seem trivial to others).

Overt laziness that adversely affects others is a particular pet peeve of mine - especially when it's easily avoidable. In this case it couldn't possibly be any easier. If it's no ordeal to open a browser tab and type the fighter's name into a field on Boxrec (which by your own admission is the bare minimum of research efforts - btw, we'll have to agree to disagree on the usefulness of Boxrec as a sole resource here...in my book it's close enough for government work) - then it is likewise no ordeal to hit the "Search this Thread" button and type the fighter's name in there.

This thread is light-hearted fun, but it robs the thread of all its potential fun when people selfishly post without checking to see if they're cluttering it up - failing to pitch in to keep everything tidy.

As to the crass language...I have a brother with Asperger's and several challenged friends, and have myself had friends and coworkers with mental handicaps in the past. I have also had homosexual friends. Obviously when the word "******ed" is used in the context above, it is not meant in a maliciously prejudiced sense but in the commonly understood colloquial sense - which you know full well. It's the same as telling someone to quit being a god damn ****** - in the right context, there is nothing homophobic about such a usage, as it is known to not be conveying anything to do with orientation. One final note there: ******ed, in either the literal or colloquial sense, is an adjective. So the issue of my being "lazy with verbs" was a non-starter. :good

    Back to business...

There is an upcoming WBO Cruiserweight title match next month that also serves as a battle of two young habitual zero-stealers. Unfortunately each has one loss on their record; otherwise there would be a lot more than the WBO title on the line (for the purposes of this thread anyway).

Champion Marco "Kap'n" Huck has 64...

    Vitaliy Rusal 23-0
    Geoffrey Battelo 18-0
    Vadim Tokarev 23-0-1

...and challenger Matt "Too Smooth" Godfrey has 33.

    Shawn Hawk 18-0-1
    Shaun George 11-0-2
    Chris Riley 2-0-1
    Charles Tucker 2-0

    97 between them.

Interestingly, the Canizales brothers are tied at 52.

    Orlando:

    Danny Aponte 14-0
    Sergio Reyes 10-0
    Bones Adams 26-0-1
    Manuel Gago 2-0

    Gaby:

    Alejandro Valezuela 1-0
    Richie Sandoval 29-0
    James Pipps 23-0

Actually, I take that back. Gaby had one more than his brother, at 53.

    105 between them.

I had a "******ed" sister whom died suddenly a few years ago.

Dip **** up there is of course more entitled to be condescending cause he's awesome and works with them, by gawd.

That humanitarian, his sheer selflessness breaking the boundaries of day-time profession to undefeated record stealing threads on boxing forums!

Did I mention I really can't respect people with so little common sense on a medium like the internet?

But yes, back to busienss as usual.

Here's a good one... Iron chinned Argentinian Lorenzo Luis Garcia, whom started his career in the late 70's and fought until 93'.

Actually started his career as a minimum weight and fought all the way to MW, bringing his iron chin the entire time.

Was actually the first man to beat Jorge Fernando Castro as well, whom he fought four times over a long span of time. Impressive.

    8-0 Pedro Armando Gutierrez
    30-0 Jesus Eugenio Romero
    18-0 Brian Baronet
    37-0 Jorge Fernando Castro

    93-0.

    Also drew with ...

    15-0 Forrest Winchester

I'm pretty sure he was screwed against Johnny Bumphus, 21-0 at the time, who he knocked down in the process.
