Billy Joe Saunders has impressive numbers, shame the names aren't that strong Jarred Fletcher 12-0-0 Gary O'Sullivin 16-0-0 John Ryder 15-0-0 Emanuele Blandamura 18-0-0 Chris Eubank Jr 18-0-0 79-0-0
i think harry grebs boxrec scan reveals 174....but when you get back into this era you cannot rely on boxrec records for these opponents
Right you are, there's talk of a unification bout with Golovkin. Saunders team won't push it at this stage of his career, but thiese would be good additions depending which way it went
Willie Nelson, who's taking on the undefeated at 22-0 Demetrius Andrade tonight... Yudel Johnson 12-0 John Jackson 13-0 Tony Harrison 21-0 46-0 Also believe he was the underdog in all three.
Carl Frampton Yoan Boyeaux 2-0 Istvan Szabo 1-0 Raul Hirales 16-0-1 Scott Quigg 31-0-2 Léo Santa Cruz 32-0-1 82 ...and he's only 29, in his prime, with plenty more unbeaten titlists and prospect-contenders in his own division. (IBF champ Yonatan Guzmán, interim WBA champ Moises Flores, super WBA champ Guillermo Rigondeaux, up-and-coming Nacho Beristáin pupil Rey Vargas, countryman Gavin McDonnell...and if he stays at featherweight, there's Valdez, Warrington, Diaz, Lara, Ortega...)
Anthony Joshua Emanuele Leo 8-0 Gary Cornish 21-0 Dillian Whyte 16-0 Charles Martin 23-0-1 Dominic Breazeale 17-0 85-0-1
Yeah, three more than Frampton, albeit with much lower quality. Hell there are some who still maintain Joshua is totally unproven. (whereas the Jackal is the clear boss of his division...somewhere I think Joshua actually COULD get to in a couple years time if he escalates his competition and performs well)
...has since added 17-0 Vasiliy Lepikhin, bringing him to 80 - and next month on the Kovalev vs. Ward undercard will face 11-0 Oleksandr Gvozdyk for a chance to push into the nineties.
William Fernando Souza "Thompson" Bezerra Mauricio Borrero de Oliveira 2-0 Marcelo de Jesus Ribeiro 4-0 Edmilson Tonacio de Resende 3-0 Adilson Cardoso 6-0 Vanderlei de Oliveira 6-0 Josemar Dos Santos 6-0-2 Jose Augusto Dos Santos 6-0 Ernesto Carnesse Gonzalez 7-0 Hierro Salcedo 5-0 Joilson Morais 3-0 Ricardo Augusto Souza 8-0 Manoel Rodrigues de Souza 10-0 Dadilson dos Santos 11-0 Joselito Dos Santos Santana 8-0 Jose Robson Dos Santos 17-0 Austreberto Perez Maranon 5-0 Romildo Dos Santos 7-0 114. All except Hierro Salcedo were kayoed. Bezerra is 41-0 (40) and has never reached the cards in nearly eight years of boxing professionally, all on the Brazilian domestic circuit. He defeated Salcedo via DQ. Nutty stuff.
IIRC Bezerra is a "boxrec boxer" where a lot of his opponents might not even exist. I seem to remember some Brazilian posters here saying that they never heard of the guy. Found the thread. Here: https://www.boxingforum24.com/threads/william-fernando-souza-bezerra.418178/
Here's another thread on him: https://www.boxingforum24.com/threa...ally-the-best-cruiserweight-right-now.580669/
Crazy, 41-0 (40) was his record all the way back at the beginning of the year when that thread was made. Actually, it has been his mark since March of 2016. Tragic to see such a p4p level talent was 1¾ years of his prime. At least he is back in action this weekend. The rematch everyone has been demanding, with Jose Robson Dos Santos, his KO6 victim in 2013, who entered that fight at 17-0 and is coming into Saturday's match an almost equally fresh 17-1, zero fights in four years, ready to exact revenge.
