Benn was the definition of risk. Sure he was flawed but on any given night he had the potential to totally destroy someone levels above him skill wise.
Skill is overrated with the hardcore boxing fans. Sometimes you can just blitzkrieg people with your speed and power.
You had to completely destroy him if you wanted to win, he was a dangerous man. He would try to take your head off in every round.
I used to love watching benn in my youth it was like a rollercoaster ride kill or be killed.I never before or since have seen such a exciting fighter total mayhem.
Can you imagine if Benn was fighting in today's MW division? Quillin > Nigel who? I'm up for bigger, better things. Cotto > What has he done to deserve the fight? I'm not a MW, let him come down to 155. Canelo > Not ready for MW yet. Maybe in a couple of years. Eubank > Sr; "my son smashes him to pieces", Jr fights Jeter... .... well, you get the point.
Benn even admitted himself, the main reason the fight didnt happen was because of politics. He actually had huge respect for Jones
