Floyd's jab is not on the same level as Cotto's , sorry. Cotto is a natural left hander, and he has proven ( also against common opponents, Judah/Mosley) that he is able to land a jab more often and just as accurately as Floyd..

I don't disagree with you about Floyd's right hand.. or about Floyd's overall timing/reflexes and speed... but the TS is trying to imply that Floyd can simply jab his way to victory against Pacquiao, which I strongly disagree with.

And the fact that Pacquiao was able to time Cotto's jab and counter is beautifully doesn't bode well for the TS's argument either... People think that Cotto was winning early in that fight and could have won if he kept jabbing... people who make that argument simply don't understand boxing, or never even watched the fight.

The TS is a ****** and obviously just made an ignorant statement based on no knowledge, he didn't even explain why other than he watched the Cotto/Pacquiao fight.

    :deal

Pacman timed Cotto's jab and countered it all night long. Floyd's only chance is to fight back foot, and never engage.

    Because Gayweather has a jab!!!!!

If I rank Gayweather's jab on a scale of 10, with 10 as the best, at most that he will get is 2, and that is being extravagantly generous, like Divac's "I don't know how to score" 10 - 8 round for JMM in the Pac-Jmm 2 fight.

Didn't need the Cotto fight to know Floyd will box Pacquiao's ears off.

He knew Cotto was done in the latter rounds. He didn't even try dodging his jab, just walked right through it.

Mayweather's weak ass jab to set up a right hand to the body...
Wonder if Pacquiao can land his right hook against the same thing :think

So because he has a spurt of jab he is a jabber now?

He never was and is a jabber. Sure he throws jabs but does he do it consistently or rely on it? Against his pretty pathetic resume, he never stamped a jab as his trademark.

This thread is just similar to michigay's gayweather is the beat pressure fighter ever, which I am sure you agreed.

now you can't say Floyd doesn't have a good jab. He doesn't use it much, but when he does it is great. He's like Roy Jones Jr. when it comes to the jab

It's possible Floyd wins a decision but that's not the most likely way Floyd beats PAC.....by "Jabbing his ass off for 12 rds". Fact is you can't beat PAC with just a jab....and you can't beat PAC by fighting in spots and going defensive, which are HUGE obstacles that Floyd knows he has...which probably has a lot to do with his reluctance to fight PAC.

Floyd is a leopard who isn't changing his spots anytime soon and everyone knows it. There are qualities that Floyd has that does present problems for PAC like speed, size and great counter punches. So it's an intriguing fight. It's lost some of that steam for those who wanted to see the fight b/c everyone now thinks PAC crushes Floyd simply b/c "Money" is looking shook. Where I once thought Floyd would beat PAC in a good scrap...I know am confident that if they ever do work this out that Manny wins clearly.

It is mostly a pawing jab, a push rather than a punch. It is not a stiff jab. Gold but not great.
