After rewatching Wardley vs Huni, I think Wardley is all wrong for Dubois

Once Dubois forces Wardley onto the back-foot with his thunderous jab the fight would be all-but over. Dubois would stop Wardley inside 6 rounds.

Wardley makes him take a long canvas nap. Early too.

 

If Dubois tries to take him out as soon as possible, pressing forward behind his jab he should win pretty easily. But Wardley is faster, has great right hand power and can be sneaky when it comes to landing it. Also looks to have a better chin than somebody like AJ. Think he has a much better chance than one may think

Dubois is no defensive mastermind, probably not even as good as Huni defensively and his chin is crackable aswell. So this could easily end in an upset imo.

 

In any given matchup against decent opposition, Wardley is on the back foot in terms of skill and will surely ship a few shots, and he has to rely on his chin, grit, heart and power to get through. Whilst his chin seems to be good, you cannot take two to land one against a guy like Dubois; his power is too much and Wardley would surely be stopped.

 

Reading all the to and fro on the topic makes me want to see this fight. If Dubois upsets Usyk, this could be a big (and entertaining) Wembley-packing seller.

 

Dubois is not only powerful but also more versatile than Wardley, imagine a fighter who is as offensive as Huni but with 90% more power, I don't see a good ending for Wardley...

 

Also, Dubois has a really good chin. Bad matchup for Wardley.

 

Wardley would definitely have a chance.

 

Smart money is on any Dubois opponent for the next few years. Dubois is extremely hyped and extremely vulnerable.

Dubios also took multiple flush shots against Hrgovic and AJ. Bigger punchers than Wardley ever faced.
