Sorry I seen your avatar and thought that you were implying that he would eat lefts from Margarito?

Only fighter i've seen to hit Cotto with the left was Judah ... and Judah's a southpaw.

    Bro i'm not hating ...

He fought the same way ... and I said in a previous post that it wasn't a bad thing. Hell he's undefeated so whats so wrong with it ... he's winning fights that way.

    Big words....
too bad he never proved it in the ring tho bro.
being better than Pernell on paper mache or imagination is one thing.
Fighting the best of your era and proving it is another.

    Floyd did none.

So you don't think that Floyd could beat Margarito in a 12 round bout?

in watching these clips ive realized that Floyd probably has the best defense ever and all that bull**** about pressuring him is just that... bull****

he calculates his opponents single and every move in the first couple rounds and learns his opponents rhythm .. then in the later rounds uses his defense to open up his opponent to power shots... but not power shots in bunches

SINGLE POWER SHOTS THAT SCORE POINTS AND DAMAGE the opponent

thats why floyd has made so many fighters quit in the corner..

in the later rounds he is so ****ing precise.. and there is no breaking threw his defense no matter what you think...

how are the links i posted any different than what cotto is going to do to floyd?

cotto cant really effect floyd when there standing toe to toe because floyd moves around to much and thats what gives cotto trouble (proof when he fought shane)

it will be rough and tumble for floyd but he definitely takes it imo by 2-4 rounds

the difference with floyd and pernell is

his defense was very easy to notice by the untrained eye..fighters would toss punches @ him and he would dance around them like it was a video game code or soemthing....

floyds defense is by picking punches off and using body movement to lessen the impact of the punch ... which when you see the fight happening is hard to notice... but if you watch youtube clips over and over again. you can see it

look @ the links i put up.. look @ all the punchs floyd deflects his elbows n shoulders its amazing.. once he gets his opponents rythym there is NO BREAKING FLOYDS DEFENSE!!!

under pressure - without pressure.. what ever ... its impossible

back to zab though... zab had a huge opprotunity to beat cotto because cotto couldnt handle the speed.. zab for some reason never wanted to let his hands go during that fight.

maybe he was scared to trade with cotto

LOL, WTF does this have to do with Margarito lol... get over the fact I have a Margo avatar.

But to answer your question, NO A retired fighter can't beat an active one.

Its so cool how many different ways that Mayweather can throw that right hand and how he never fights the same each fight ... (not saying that fighter that fight the same are bad)

He always shows you something different ...

Thanks for the clips Walk with me ...

Walk with me ... its funny how the commentators on one of those clips were talking **** about how Chavez is doing this and that and he just happened to get stopped.

exactly... it goes to show that they have really been against mayweather for the longest...

because chavez continue to tried to attempt to keep the pressure on and he ate about 1000000 uppercuts... he made him pay by doing what the commentators think is the answer... and the hits are so punishing that the corner had no choice but to stop it...

i saw the chavez clips before but i never really processed floyd defense on the ropes...
    check out the way
-how fast floyd rolls his body (takes punches to the elbows, shoulders & back) to avoid the punches
-how he can pick of the punches with his hands ( simply just catches them like the pad work you always see with roger)
-HIS RYTHYM ... i think a major attribute to floyd thats under estimated.. floyd changes his rythym like every minute of every round.. sometimes he just stands there to confuse his opponent then he just lunges in, and sometimes he bounces to get a timing.. it leaves the fighter clueless

i think because of floyd most recent fights people forget how talented this man is.... because watching these clips he looks unstopable honestly.

the more i think about it.... cotto might be tailormade for floyd..

hes like the best version of what floyd can beat...

maybe i need to watch cotto fight some more.. or i might be over exagerating a little bit because im so impressed by the chavez and ndou highlights.. (watch ndou try to trap floyd @ 2:05 on the youtube timer.. NONE OF THOSE PUNCHES TOUCH FLOYD WHEN HES ON THE ROPES...> NONE < ... his defense is outrageous)

think about cotto's strengths & weaknesses....

strength- pressure fighting, body work, cutting off ring
weakness- chin, struggles against fighters with movement

his strengths are what floyd flourishes in and weakness are how floyd makes his opponent pay the worse..

who knows. it will make for a wonderful matchup..

i had cotto beating zab by the way haha..

the ring rust also could have played a major factor because he was out of the ring for 365 + and took that warmup fight that lasted less than a round....

to go from that to cotto is a big jump
