Ibragimov and Thompson are both awkward southpaws, one being tall with agood chin, the other being short and afraid to engage.. Wlad did what he needed to do to beat both, dominated Iggy, and gave Tony is first knockout loss..

David Haye is nothing like either of them, and probably easier to hit than both.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I have never yet seen Wlad look good against southpaws

Why are you guys overrating Thompson ... the man was fighting scared the whole fight and was trying to build up confidence ... he knew he was going to lose the fight. You could hear it in his voice when they interviewed him before the fight.

This guy wasn't fast ... he wasn't powerful ... he didn't have any savvy ... he was stand up there coming right in front of Wlad and was getting hit alot ...

He was looking like a guy brought in to give Wlad some rounds but not be a serious threat.

He was a mandatory defense because he's big, rangey with huge reach & a good jab. He'd never been knocked out before & he was on a 27 fight winning streak. He KO'd Krasniqi in his last bout too.

No because Thompson is rubbish and old and isn't on the same level as the Hayemaker.

no great option to select in the poll. wlad is still prime at 32. he's showed the same, good and bad, for some years now. that said he is beatable as he has always been. when someone does beat him if it occurs in the next 2 years or so, it won't be because he's old.

Exactly. Haye fights similar to the way Vitali fights, leaning forward with his hands low trying to get his opponents to swing so he can counter. The difference is Haye isn't as good at it as Vitali is & Vitali has an iron chin if the occasional punch does get through.

Haye is tailor made for Wladimir

I knew Thompson wasn't going to win but I didn't think he was even going to last ... he was in survival mode after the 3rd round ... and was knocked down (I forgot what round) but Cortez didn't count it as a knockdown.

If he had a better corner they wouldve stopped that fight before reaching the 11th ...

Wlad fans must be worried if Haye connects that it could be all over for the Wlad reign :happy

I think Haye would have a very hard time with Thompson. :nono Tony's jab is better & longer IMO.
