You should watch some of Abner's previous fights so you can see how much he goes to the body. That would give you a better platform to an informed opinion.
Mares would win a rematch. But, I have no problem with him fighting Moreno next, in a unifier. Abner would get knocked out by Donaire though.
It's entirely possible Mares would win a rematch- he's the younger fighter, he is more active, and he could learn from his mistakes tonight. But it's also entirely possible Agbeko outboxes him like he did the second half of the fight, particularly if Mares doesn't adjust some things. That's why the rematch is necessary at this point IMO. This was a good fight even with the low blows, it could be a great one if it's clean. And that's what everyone involved in this deserves- Agbeko, Mares, and the fans.
The headbutt that caused the cut was intentional.... Anyways if a competent ref was in there Mares would still win the fight...

I don't buy this **** Agbeko trying to play the victim what about those times throughout the fight he was rabbit punching Mares? Agbeko landing some nice right hands, but Mares was outlanding him even with the cut. I agree the 2nd knockdown was bogus, but even without it Mares did enough to win. Only a noob would think Mares was going for a ko. Agbeko didn't do enough win. He was the bigger puncher he didn't even floor Mares even once. Mares won despite all the ball bashing and cheapshots behind the head.
Where was the outrage about Vic/Mares fight? How about he fight that ended with a knockout by an extremely low blow? Commentators just shrugged it off! What about SOB Ward's headbutt from across the ring on Kessler? Win by illegal headbutt, not to mention low blows, elbows, etc.
you're wrong Agbeko needed some rounds to figure out Mares and once he did he dominated the 2nd half of the fight. With a competent ref Agbeko wouldnt need to give up any rounds early to figure out Mares.

Totally agree no one said **** all when Mares landed low blows on Vic all night long i honestly think the ref warned him maybe 20 times AFTER he took a point early:fire He should give Vic a rematch with a half decent ref!
I missed the fight, but looking at that vid of the 11th round, that ref seems to have ****ed up the fight badly. The announcers seem to be very pissed off too.
Thank you for posting that Vic video. With all due respect, damn near every one of those shots were on the belt line. And if you notice, Vic's trunks were ABOVE his navel i.e. his trunks were HIGH. So, to act like Abner was hitting him too low is absurd. He was just trying to go to the body and none of them were intentional. Vic was just being a *****.
