32 is still plenty young. I think his point is that he's done all he can do and he's reached his ceiling. He very likely won't beat Usyk and so it's only downhill from here. Either retire or be content with being a journeyman -- which I guess he isn't.

It's looking pretty ominous for the second Usyk fight if it ever happens. First he tried to get step aside money. Now he's hinting at retirement. Imagine going into a fight with the best p4p fighter in the world (imo) with this sort of mentality. He's getting KO'd.
Ducking Fury Usyk mentally owns him and Joshua knows after he loses his next fight, Fury will hunt that payday down after he fights Usyk. He's running but he can't hide. He can retire all he likes but the gypsy king will spark him out anytime, any place, anywhere
Deep down, he doesn’t really want to take the Usyk rematch and knows he’s already lost. Nor do I believe he ever truly wanted to face Fury.
