Great pad work wins you fights. Just ask Chris Eubank Jr. He won the event against Groves, thanks to his superior pad work in the gym.
he also (with some help from the ref) just managed to get past a 45year old heart patient. War Wilder !.
Joshua is so phony lmao. "Business is purely based on survival"! WTF does that mean lol lol lol...!!!??? ****en dull ass lmao. Dull personality, dull everything.
Idk, if you only base it of the pad work, Parker is way more impressive and a lot faster on the pads.
Apparently right now he is at the weight he was for his last fight....which was a career high. He is looking fast and sharp in the videos
Joshua is technically very sound but he’s impeded his flexibility and dexterity with all that bulky muscle he’s carrying around. That’s why he has trouble in the later rounds with his stamina. Fundamentally he’s a very textbook pugilist. I just wish he got more lean so he could increase speed, velocity and fluidity. I still think he’s capable of beating Wilder who lacks the skills, technique and fundamentals of the sweet science....but his body type and frame is perfect for a Heavyweight boxer over 6’5. If Wilder had Joshua’s skills or if Joshua had Wilders build (minus his bird legs) I think we’d have a dominant heavyweight capable of owning the division for the next 10 years.
Wilder has his own skills, own chin and own heart. He wants the fight. Skills and fundamentals always help, but as Big George Foreman in the past..."when it's a fight all the skill goes out of the window and it's a fight"! Joshua has not faced one guy who can put him in mortal danger. I giver him credit for beating Wlad who was 41, going down and getting up and winning, but that wasn't Wilder landing. Wilder will put Joshua in mortal danger and vice versa. Go to 41:42 of this fight and listen to big George. This content is protected
I think part of Wilders success is due to his unorthodox style. It’s hard to prepare for his offensive arsenal. But he has defensive liabilities because of his lack of fundamentals. Wilder has the intangibles that make a great champion....heart, grit, chin and confidence....but he’s gotta tighten up technically. Otherwise he may be able to continue to win because of his power and sheer will...but a sound, composed and more skillful boxer with those same attributes that make a great champion will expose those defensive deficiencies. Luckily the heavyweight division lacks those kinds of opponents
I actually think that Wilder's defense has gotten tons better. Wilder's weakness is his flair for punches during the fight. Wilder and Joshua lack hooks off of jab, triple hooks, right hand leads, footwork, and consistent body punching. But what they do is stay fundamentally sound and they use their size speed and athletic ability to beat you and both have been successful.
Joshua for sure. He’s very sound fundamentally. Wilder not so much. He gets by on his athletic qualities as his defense. But the lack of fundamentals is why Ortiz landed so many clean blows on him. He’s still a tall order for anyone due to his physical attributes
Wilder's success is because he has HAYMON BOXING INSURANCE! Joshua is slimming down to prepare for Parker's speed.................and he is working on his stamina, he can't afford to lose his stamina with Parker...............
He definitely is putting on a scripted media face. But if it earned me millions id do exactly the same as would most folk.
Ortiz landed those punches because he stunned Wilder. That’s not fundamentals. Good fighters with the best fundamentals get caught. Same with Joshua.
