Joshua is overrated, but let's get it right: his behaviour after the Usyk fight was likely down to a concussion, and he apologised the next day. When Fury comes out with homophobic and anti-semitic remarks, people write it off as a mental health issue. Imagine the grief Joshua would get if he took 3 years out of the sport to snort cocaine and sit in the pub, then he came back, made all sorts of remarks about how Usyk looks (comments that Fury still hasn't apologised for), and then got slapped from pillar to post before getting saved by the referee. Imagine Joshua got dropped by Ngannou and had a 10-round shootout with him. There are reasons to dislike Joshua, but I guarantee you that if he were called John Smith and from some leafy suburb down south, he'd have his own national holiday by now. Usyk also wouldn't work with him if he didn't like him, and because he's an adult, he probably doesn't hold onto grudges for half a decade like people who are chronically online do.
I found this chat to be interesting, the man in yellow isn't brainwashed nor a Joshua hardcore fanboy Fury hater - he makes some good observations - the other 2 lovvvve AJ (25 mins onwards) This content is protected
AJ really messed up with his speech after the 2nd loss to Usyk, but the context is relevant and he showed remorse afterwards. Fury blaming his loss on the war was worse IMO and he’s still standing by it. I think it shows some humility and good sense to team up and learn from the guy who whooped is arse twice. Usyk still likes AJ. I get the impression he wouldn’t give Fury the steam off his p1ss.
He had character, and now he'll have the skills. But listen, I don't know what's going on over there, but I know it's not nice.
Can't help but be reminded of someone who joked that after Usyk I, Joshua was at home googling "youcrainian dancing" to study
TBF if Usyk offered to teach me about the intricacies of tiddlywinks, I would turn up five hours early pen and notepad in hand. Accordingly, if Usyk is willing to give you boxing advice, you listen. To those saying this can't be true because Usyk dislikes Joshua, Usyk is anything but petty and doesn't seem to hold grudges; Joshua apologised for his nonsensical rant, and I'm sure Usyk understands given the heat of the moment and the volume of shots he landed to Joshua's noggin. There are only two opponents Usyk seemed to be genuinely annoyed at/disdainful toward throughout his pro career, and those are Huck and Dubois.
