Surprised if Joshua fights him. More risk than reward. Not the right opponent next up, imo. But yes, good fight if it happens.
Just who the hell do you think you are talking to you ****ing tramp? Where are you getting this information that the contract stipulated that fight would be late 2018? When did your beloved AJ accepted the deal? I've already proven that your idol is a coward. If AJ will fight Povetkin, i will rescept him much more.Povetkin is also old, but in other parts not like Klitshko, who was 2 years without a win and so many months out of the ring. On the other side is Wilder, looking for fight with the guy who was destroyed by Joshua, draw fight against Kassi and lost all rounds to 44 y.o. Mansour - Dominic Breazeale.
From Finkel. "As for the timing of the bout, Finkel said it would take place between September and the end of the year." http://www.espn.co.uk/boxing/story/_/id/23317719/deontay-wilder-offers-anthony-joshua-50-million-heavyweight-unification-bout So as I said pretty clear neither side wanted it next as even Wilder's offer was for between Sept and Dec 2018 and Breazeale himself confirmed he's on standby to fight Wilder in July or early August. So it's clear this offer of 50 mill was for after the Breazeale fight. And the only thing you've proven is how you easily swallow team Wilder's PR. So you can keep playing the fool and keep pretending Wilder and his team want it next when nothing they have done suggests that is true. Fact is both sides have been spinning bull**** to build the fight and only the fanboys and haters are falling for it. The rational unbiased fans can now clearly see neither side wants it next.
Are you forgetting that Wilder ducked Povetkin yet fought Ortiz who also tested positive for PEDs? Explain that logic to me. Please.
Povetkin's Promoter has just as much money as Al Haymon, if not more... He got Deontay Wilder to agree to fight Povetkin in Moscow!! what does that tell u about how deep his pockets are?? Eddie Hearn can barely convince Wilder to come to London. I think Ryabinsky will Eddie Hearn an offer that he can't refuse!! Don't be shocked if this fight happens next.
So basically you are just making stuff up and actually quite thick. Do you know what ''between'' means? You said that the offer was for the end of the year Finkel's word's are ''between'' September and the end of the year. That means had AJ accepted, the fight could have been made for this autumn which is 4 months away. FYI, Wilder's team hasn't been spinning anything. If you believe they have then you need to back up your words because all we have is your opinion which you are passing offer as factual. The facts are, Wilder's team asked for a percentage similar to the one Parker recieved and Hearn instead offered a flat fee knowing they would rejected, since in his own words he believed it was a 100 million fight. AJ then asked for 50 million and he would accept it the next day. They offered 50 million and now instead of taking it he said he wasn't prepared to sell his belts and now he is on the verge of fighting old man Povetkin. Those are the facts, not your ******ed opinion.
When Hearn convinced David Price to fight against Povetkin, so he could look good knocking someone out the writing was on the wall. Povetkin is 2-3 years over the hill, and even a prime Povetkin struggles against the tactics (some illegal) that Wlad used against him. I am sure AJ will have talked to Wlad about this fight and be looking to use those same tactics. AJ will be fighting safety first from this point on in order to keep the incremental pay days rolling on as champion.
Povetkin is a different fighter from when he fought Wlad.. that was a learning fight for him.. Just like Wlad was a different fighter after he start working with Manny Steward.. Wlad was a different fighter after his loss to Lamon Brewster.. and guess what, he rematched him and beat him later.. Don't count Povetkin out... He's way stronger than Parker and Takam.
I’d favor Joshua but not by a ton. Povetkin is real good, maybe the best of the previous era still around. Not to mention he looked good in his last fight. Not that I think he was ever truly great. But it’s an era of mortal men anyway.
Povetkin vs Breazeale at the end of the year for undisputed. That would just be the funniest outcome.
if they were really serious then they would of met with Hearn on at least 1 of the 2 meetings they set up. I believe Wilder wants the payday. Not sure about the ego-wrestling match going on with his overly-populated management team.
Povetkin is 38. That is very old. By the time a HW is 40 they are officially a expired at the highest level. Povetkin has looked like he is slowing down in recent fights. He didn’t perform well against Christian Hammer for example and looks a touch slower these days. He was at his peak against Wlad in my opinion but couldn’t get his work off due to excessive illegal holding.
I'm glad Povetkin is getting his final title shot before he hits 40. Unfortunately Povetkin is still just too old at this point. He's clearly lost a step. Maybe a lot of steps. It will be interesting to see if Povetkin gets KOd for the first time, but perhaps an AJ UD is more likely. Really, it will probably just be a repeat of AJ/Parker. It's kind of unfortunate that Wilder/Povetkin will probably never happen now. That would've been a fun fight.
