I'm still slightly in favour of Joyce v this gunshy version of Joshua. Joyce has an amazing engine , Joshua has a poor one. Unless Joshua can win early he'll struggle to keep up with Joyce's relentless pace.
If AJ loses to Usyk, a KO win against Joyce will bring him back into the game. Joyce will help him rejuvenate his career.
Another thread where AJ is being underrated big time. AJ stamina is fine, he goes 12 rounds while moving against Ruiz, 12 with ease against Parker and 12 with none other than Usyk. And he constantly improve on that, so his stamina is going to be even better now. Joyce has no chance. I would even favor Wilder against him.
The thing is Joyce took several bombs from Dubois. And hardly flinched. I think Dubois has more one punch power than AJ tbh. Look at his KOd. AJ does clearly have better skills. But can cope with Joyce's relentless pressure? I'm not sure he can. I can see Joyce, given he has shaken off any ring rust, forcing Joshua to gas. This would be an action packed extremely fun fight. And it ain't gonna happen
I Think Dubois has more power in his hands than AJ. His punches appear more concussive imo. Joyce took and ate several clean bombs from Dubois. Of course with AJ being more skilled than Dubois hell more than likely land big shots that are more accurate and less telegraphed.
Of course Usyk is much better than Joyce. He's already beaten him in his prime, but we don't know how much AJ has left. The rematch with Usyk might help us answer that.
Neither one of them have good defense. This would be a fan friendly fight and one I hope gets made after Usyk beats AJ again.
I wouldn't wright Joyce off either but if AJ loses to Usyk again that won't change my view on his chances against Joyce. He didn't look shot last fight I just think Usyk is better than him.
Huh?? You're kidding right? Joyce is as slow and ponderous as they come. Joshua has light years better skills. The only question is if he didn't take Joyce out is whether his stamina holds up and gets stopped late due to gassing.
AJ has stopped far better opponents than either Dubois or Joyce. It's one thing taking single shots from a heavy hitting prospect, but taking on constant combinations from AJ? If Joyce doesn't improve his defense he's getting laid out.
