Need to check my subscriptions are up to date, to see if i am covered for the dastardly cheeky increase in price.
Ive stated many times rate and enjoy watching Joyce and Dubois and I am looking forward to their fight. However if its a choice between top proven HWs in Whyte and Povetkin (who had a good entertaining time in their 1st fight) or against Euro level who have potential then I know who i would rather watch.
There will be a huge correlation between the increase in price and the significant increase of new members joining the UK Angling Society.
You need to move with the times mate. Dirty Eh Day Earn reneged on my lifetime PPV subscription to fund Terry Harper's medical bills for her upcoming private operation. Eh Day went right down in my estimation - even more than Alex Ferguson with King Kevin Keegan. I joined the Angling Society in protest and meet many members of this forum down at The River Inn on fight night. The recent Usyk v Pudding Chisora night was packed out.
Tony Dosh PPV v Pudding Pulev is a stonker compared to Dubois v Joyce. How on earth does Pudding Pulev win the fight - by plodding forward and losing every round on points? The first meaningful Tony Dosh PPV punch ends the non contest and even if he continues with the Hughie Clinchko style, he still wins every round on the cards.
I think it will be interesting to see how AJ handles Pulev's jab (which is argubably the best in the division).
I really rate Pulev he's got a great jab and has decent power in his shots but think at his age his legs are completely gone, he'll take one big shot from Joshua and won't be able to sustain the onslaught. Hope he goes out on his shield though this is certainly his last ever fight, can't imagine he'd want to be fodder for upcoming heavyweights afterwards he's 39 years old
He’s got a good jab but it means very little if there’s not much threat behind it. He hasn’t hurt a decent fighter for many years. He stopped Dinu in a mediocre stoppage but he’s not proper chinned anyone in many years. So the jab counts for very little imo. Straight off the top of my head I would argue that several heavies have a more dangerous jab including Joshua and Fury. Even Dubois has a better jab imo.
Fair enough. I hear a lot that Kubrat Pulev arguably has the best jab in the division. He certainly has a good jab, but who has he exhibited his excellent jab against? I remember when people used to talk about Ustinov being a good name on his record and Dimitrenko. That's how lacklustre it is. These are immobile "puddings". The best thing he did was rock Wladimir Klitschko with a jab, but he wasn't the first or last to do so. I can't get up for this. He's not tall enough (under his billed listing), not got a great reach, no head movement and slow feet. On top of that, I reckon Joshua will fancy his chances in taking one of Pulev's jabs flush to be able to get off his own work. He knows Pulev hasn't got the biggest arsenal to follow up on his jab.
I was at the O2 World in 2014 when Wlad battered this pudding all over Hamburg - the easiest night he ever had with the exception of Toe Haye. Pulev is a total pudding.
Let’s be honest with the match room/ sky hype train behind it , it will do some good numbers for sure.
No point getting angry at the price. If mugs want to pay then nothing we say will make a difference. As genuine boxing fans we know what the deal is.
In fairness we are knocking AJ and matchroom in this situation but lets not forget Pulev probably negotiated his arse off for his lottery win of a purse. Which he will never see again. My guess is that he is taking £4-5m for the fight. My guess is they are anticipating 700k buys which creates another £3.5m to the pot. The pot is probably £15m with the increase and overseas rights. Once Pulev and the undercard are paid AJ is probably taking £10m which in fairness is the lowest hes taken for some time. Matchroom will also view this as a chance to turn a profit as in fairness the probably made a loss on the Whyte and Chisora cards. Not saying its right but in fairness I will probably still pay the money to watch the night of boxing. However that DAZN subscription certainly seems a winner to me.
