Exactly, a knowledgeable boxing fan can listen to Al commentate and appreciate his boxing mind. I wish there were more fights on showtime because the crew there is far better than the one at HBO.
Al Bernstein is one of the most biased commenators in boxing today and yesterday. He hates mexican fighters and Euro. He bet $10,000 of Paez to beat De La Hoya and lost it! He hated Chavez, etc., he is an idiot!
Bernsteins knowledge and insight are always welcome to any boxing broadcast. He has remained a dedicated follower of the sport and it's participants. Great analyst and great guy in person too!

Next time you watch him, watch the fight very carefully, you will see how biased he is. He counts on fans being ignorant.
Bernstein is a true professional. He's a credit to sportscasting. Boxing is lucky to have him. While Ai doesn't have Lampley's GQ looks, voice control, or verbal acumen, he's got a charm of his own, and knows what is going on in the ring.
Agreed, I always think he is fantastic. One of the best out there. BUT, I think its more often than not that he leans toward a certain fighter over an opponent...but its not to a huge degree like his HBO counterparts.
