Gutierrez is picking off the short southpaw's ascending right jabs with a downturn of his left arm, catching them on the wrist and glove. Temple brushing hook by Gutierrez darting in, but Iriarte is able to paint his face with a double right jab on the way in and then plug a few straight lefts into his Matrix hole as Gutierrez's momentum carries him inside with his back to Iriarte.

Gutierrez is doing lots of posing, with his shoulders repeating shrugging and rolling motions side to side. A few reach-in jabs by Gutierrez. Iriarte is changing his pace, quick to slow, vanishing and reappearing from odd angles, getting in the occasional left hand lead, briefly shaking Gutierrez off-balance with a left uppercut stuffed into his teeth as he was lunging and missing with a rare combination.

The unofficial commentator has, curiously, given Iriarte the 2nd with a full 10-9 swing. They now have it 20-18.5 Iriarte.

 

Round 3

Gutierrez is throwing jabs at the head and rights into the sternum from outside. Iriarte tries raking high with the stubby right jab but Gutierrez effortlessly bats it down with his left glove and keeps shuffling to maintain the spacing. Iriarte is pressing in on the taller boxer with his arms low, baiting Gutierrez and then using deep head lolls when he attacks, but not coming up with the timely counter. Nice sneaky right hook on the ear by Iriarte coming straight in the front door and then taking a baby sidestep. Left hand lead by Iriarte. BIG matador-style left uppercut by Iriarte catching Gutierrez coming in lazily, and Gutierrez goes down! He is up and about to be saved by the bell, when the ref makes a baffling choice to wave the contest off even though Gutierrez rose and was clear-headed.
