    Round 2

Zambrano is still following Marimon, and still allowing the pace to be nullified by Marimon's extreme slant on elusiveness. (which he seems to define as "being nowhere in the vicinity of your opponent, practically in another zip code"... do they even do zip codes in Peru?...certainly, there wouldn't be more than one in Callao...anyway...I guess I have to go back to commenting on this now...damn it...really wouldn't mind an immediate Zeragga vs. Jimenez rematch about now...or hell, a replay...) Zambrano pressuring slowly with jabs. Marimon running, running, and running.

    20-18 Zambrano

Wow, the boys on this card are doing everything in their power to shatter the stereotypical illusion of boxers from Colombia as "limited but exciting bangers". It's like they searched far and wide and rounded up the country's biggest spoilers to fly out and televise here. Crazy.

Hopefully Karlius Diaz and/or Emilio Julio Julio break the trend...

    Round 3

Zambrano is still holding out the left jab, keeping it on Marimon and grazing with it from outside as the little man ducks back and tracks around him, careful to stay away from the ropes for the most part. Zambrano tosses a combo to the body and Marimon thumps himself on the chest as though to ask for a fight...then runs and ducks more. A cuffing hook by Zambrano has Marimon ducking very low into him, with the shot sweeping past the back of his head and driving him down. Glove touch. Unclear what's happening here. The referee is talking to Marimon in the corner but not applying a count, while Zambrano waits in a neutral corner. Marimon bends over and touches the canvas with both sets of knuckles, as though demonstrating or reenacting for the ref. I guess that wasn't ruled a knockdown?

    10-9 Zambrano

    30-27 Zambrano

From what little I've seen of Karlius Diaz Perez (highlights of 2 of his fights were on Youtube)...he's not a runner. Though he's certainly not exciting either. Very limited though.

    Round 4

Headbutt!! Blatant butt by Marimon. Zambrano is slowly scuffing his feet on the canvas, taking the tiniest steps toward his opponent and throwing a jab every ten seconds. Marimon dances away, well outside, and occasionally spears in a left hand while leaping halfway into range before ducking back out. Zambrano walks into him and catches him trying to hug, pushing him down and away. Zambrano presses him nearly into a corner, feigning jabs.

    10-9 Zambrano

    40-36 Zambrano

    Round 5

Zambrano is pushing down trying to pry Marimon off his stomach, as Marimon has eschewed running in favor of ducking in and holding. Zambrano brushes his back with a few jabs on the way in and out. Marimon flees to the ropes when forced to relinquish his grip by the referee or Zambrano himself. 1-2 by Zambrano, blocked but forcing Marimon onto the ropes, back tipping over them. Zambrano is pulled with him as Marimon holds onto his arms.

    10-9 Zambrano

    50-45 Zambrano

There are ugly fights, fugly fights, and then there's this fight. Funny thing is that I could see both of these guys being involved in fun or at least intriguing fights. But that ain't happening when they face one another.

    Round 6

Zambrano is backhanding his left jab slowly up from its limp holstered position at his hip, and waving some hooks out as Marimon keeps his back pinned to the ropes and scrapes out a trail along the full square circuit. A few right hand feints by Zambrano, but he never quite delivers on them as Marimon cringes and snatches himself out of harm's way or melts into the ropes. Zambrano still doing just enough with his jab to win the rounds, which would otherwise be 10-10 due to nothing of consequence happening.

    10-9 Zambrano

    60-54 Zambrano

    Septimo asalto, the penultimate round...

    THANK YOU LORD! :bowdown

I'll truly go into full-blown Gideon's-thumping atheist apostasy if you intervene and score a KO for Zambrano. ;)
