I've got absolutely nothing against Chambers who comes off as a genuinely classy guy, I just think he's up against a better fighter who's a poor style matchup for him. From the admittedly little I've seen, Chambers best weapon is the jab and I'm not sure how he'll deal with a swarmer like Povetkin for 12 rounds, which is why I think Alexander will take this and probably make Chambers look worse than he really is. His jab is quick, but does it have enough pop to keep AP off of him? If so, he's got a chance. If not, I think it could get pretty one sided come the mid round range.

Chambers is decent but not much of match for the russian star Povetkin. If this goes the distance I see practically a shutout for Povetkin. But the more likely scenario is Povetkin applying his usual suffocating pressure and punishing Chambers to both the body and head enroute to stopping Fast Eddie somewhere in the mid-rounds.

    Povetkin TKO 7 Chambers

    My thoughts:

-Chambers is better than many give him credit for. He's got very fast hands and good ring generalship. He lacks strength and doesn't have a lot of knockout power.

-Povetkin has shown himself to be more a technical boxer as he's stepped up in competition. He is best when he's aggressive, but can also set up behind a jab and work his way in with patience.

-If Povetkin goes back to his pressing style, I think he'll give Chambers stylistic problems, but I believe that Chambers will be able to slip many of Povetkin's shots, counter back with flurries and win rounds.

The thing that I really like about both of these fighters is their poise in the ring. Both guys are confident and measured and have the demeanor of seasoned pros. I give Chambers credit for big balls for going to Germany to fight this and stepping up in this tournament. Major points for that.

My take is that Chambers will be far more competitive than many think, although I think ultimately Povetkin will be too strong and will take a decision.

I do not think Povetkin will stop him. Donald went the distance with Povetkin and even though he knocked out Byrd, Chambers is a better fighter than Byrd at this stage. Chambers will surprise Povetkin with his speed and make this fight close.

    I'll say Povetkin 115-113.

Fair assesment:good While I believe that Chambers will outbox Povetkin and possibly get robbed, at least you give Chambers some credit.
Rather than talking loud, but saying NOTHING as others have, and not even seeing Chambers before spurting their opinion.

I think that everyone who tunes in, will see a very good fight:good

Like I said before, Eddie Chambers is a poor man's Chris Byrd with less defense. He gets hit, and gets hit OFTEN...just watch the Brock fight. If Brock had anything at all he would have knocked Chambers out.

Chambers better hope he loses by UD to Povetkin because if not Wlad is going to own him BAD. He stands right in front of people and has ZERO power.

Povetkin by UD, Chamber's style will be a little hard to decipher by Povetkin in the first rounds but in the mid rounds Povetkin hands will land more. Chambers does have some speed in his jab, is a very good counter puncher and also has good high defense that is why I believe Povetkin will start slow in the fight.
    So Povetkin by UD

What you've said before, SAYS AGAIN, you dont know wtf you're talking about with Chambers. HAVE YOU EVER SEEN HIM FIGHT......C'mon STOP LYING:lol:

Seriously? Get's hit often?:rofl Check it, his face usually looks IDENTICALAT THE END, to what it was in the beginning. He has very good D and RARELY DOES HE GET HIT CLEANLY!!!!

STFU WITH THAT INACCURATE GARBAGE:good YOU NEVER SAW THE BROCK FIGHT:rofl :nono Eddies face was exactly the same and brock was bruised and bleeding. Brock maybe won 3 rounds of 12 realistically and got ****ing beat, PERIOD.:yep

Onto Byrd:-( Chambers is better right now than THE BEST BYRD. Byrd never had the style to be able to fight inside effectively against bigger guys. Byrd relied on reflexes and head movement. Chambers uses the guard, movement, and understand the KEY to setting it all in motion.
HINT: IT AINT THE BYRD PITTY, PAT, MIT SLAP:nono :yikes :D

I respect Povetkins abilities and I believe that Chambers game will be elevated. Sometimes it takes a tough fight for people to see it. I think AP will bring out the best in Chambers.

You oughta check him out for the first time:happy

You know what, guys? Chambers was pretty impressive against Brock. Took some great shots but never got hurt, went through the 12 rounds with a pretty good stamina and he is not only fast but picking his punches pretty well for a HW.

He's a good counter-puncher. So is Povetkin so that means we're gonna see a pretty boring 12 round boxing match. Povetkins' skills are a bit better but Chambers is a bit faster and most importatly his upper body movement is pretty impressive. I'm still picking Povetkin but this won't be easy. And looking at the odds, this is a fight where a little bet could bring a great reward.

    Alexander Povetkin 1.125
    Eddie Chambers 6.00 (!!!)

I think Brock lacks killer instinct. Lost to Chambers cause he couldn't go in for the kill in last few rnds though he blames his corner for that.
    Povetkin by TKO
