What do you all make of this? Just seen news on the Scene of Don King signing up Kotelnik, and promised him a rematch with Khan if he beats Alexander. Im happy to see that Kotelnik didnt fade into obscurity just because of one loss. But Alexander... taking on Khan's leftovers...
Not seen a great deal of Alexander, but I guess it will allow us to gauge him against a common opponent.... Alexander on Points I'm assuming.
Alexander by stoppage. He's fast, strong and more aggressive than Khan. It'll be a late stoppage, with Kotelnik pulled out by his corner.
Well this will be a one sided beatdown from what I saw of Kotelnik in the Khan fight, he landed like 3 punches in the whole fight. Although he does appear to have a granite chin, and good stamina, he has no power and his hand speed is less than great, any boxer-puncher should have a field day with him, as Khan showed.
:-( It's a **** fight. Kotelnik was shut out easily by Khan and didn't really try to win..... Alexander has stoppages over Witter and Urango..... strange fight to take unless he fancies a quick and easy payday. Would be good to see the four guys have a little series of fights, Khan, Maidana, Bradley and Alexander - to see a new star emerge with plenty of established names nearing the end.
Kotelnik won't get stopped. Not even Maidana could stop him and Kotelnik didn't have the movement to diffuse Maidana either. He took all his shots, even when hurt he wasn't finished. He keeps his defence too tight for that and is too tough. It'll be a zzzzz type decision.
Alexander will try to make another big statement but if he goes for the stoppage too quickly he could look ****
Can't see him stopping Kotelnik either, but can you imagine if he actually did? That would be some statement, especially coming off the stoppage of that brick wall Urango.
**** fight! , this is a backward step for alexander, kotelnik is durable but limited i reckon he'll call it a day after this beatdown.
Don't know if I'd be quick to use the term 'leftovers'. You make it sound as if Kotelnik was beaten to a pulp. Khan fought scared in that fight and it was a very boring performance. I'd actually quite like to see Khan in against him again now he has more belief in himself,be interesting to see the difference.
Urango walked onto a big counter. Kotelnik just walks....and walks...and walks...and walks a bit more....and then walks again. Oh and he'll walk some more. With his hands never leaving his chin.
