I don´t bother with guys like you, Pachilles, redrooster or PowerPuncher anymore. Those guys are atgs. Recognized by all the significant people. And I give a f*ck when somebody I don´t know on an internet message board thinks otherwise. Talking to those people is like talking to a wall. My time is too precious for this sh*t.

I never said he wasn't an ATG. I just don't rate him as highly as some others.

I've never hated on Monzon or said ridiculous stuff; apart from the odd outlandish statement, I'm interested in the facts. I've listed out what I think are his stylistic defects, and given my analysis quite thoroughly. I've analysed his record, looked at his achievements and compared them to others', and stated why I think he falls short. You can be dismissive if you want - how you use your time is up to you - but you're yet to point out exactly what is so glaringly wrong about what I've said.

I won´t. Other people done so over the last 30 years numerous times. Why should I do it again? Especially when others have done it much better than I ever could? Waste of time sorry. There were plenty of Monzon discussions with all the necessary information on this board in the past. I don´t want to live in a permanent dejá-vú, sorry.

Why would Joe Frazier, Bernard Hopkins, etc. want to kid themselves as to Carlos Monzon being the best?

They are just articulating their informed opinions. And when it comes to determining great fighters, I would think fellow world champions may have some more credibility, than you.:p

Yep says the guy that knows Leonard was scared to fight Pryor, was scared to fight Hearns in the rematch and tried to wait him out, just as he did Hagler,Leonard was a politician outside of the ring always looking for a little advantage,he always tried to wait to someone got old in his eyes, while he was powerdering his ****ing nose.

I give it to Arguello by a **** hair based on his multiple division success and all the outstanding fighters like Olivares, Chacon, Boza Edwards, Mancini, etc. he defeated. Maybe Pryor would have joined that list of victims if not for Panama Lewis' "special mix" in the corner. Arguello rightfully stated that PM belonged in the trash can.

That is a very surprising list of names you have above him. Where do you rate Monzon then? Not top 30?

I´m just strolling through the Mike Casey archive on cbz and found this article on Monzon there.
I especially like the following part:
