Yeah, and? Beating Baldomir at this stage was meaningless (moreso than beating Gomez will be) - but knocking Baldomir out cold was still a statement. Knocking Gomez out cold would be one as well.

Do you realize that was in the contender tv show when Gomez fought at middleweight? lol . He had no choice but to fight at middleweight and all were 5 rounds in which Gomez never fought up to 10th round fight at middleweight.

Gomez gets battered in this one @ any weight and I don't even rate Chavez Jr. that highly.

You do know the difference between knocking someone out cold and forcing a corner retirement, right?

Sure and i know that Cotto beat up Gomez so bad that the corner stop the fight. If they didn't Cotto would be the first man to knock out Gomez.

As it is, he's never been knocked out. Just like Baldomir hadn't been knocked out (in sixteen years).

The different is Gomez will be the smaller fighter moving up in which is the fact the truth while Baldimor wasn't the smaller fighter when he fought Alvarez right? Don't mention Gomez at middleweight cause he only fought there cause of the tv show the contender and it was up to 5 rounds. Gomez fought 3 times in a 5 round fights at middleweight while 1 was up to 7 rounds.

Gomez is a welterweight, but he beat Brinkley and Manfredo at 160. Junior beat Duddy, but is Duddy any better than Brinkley or Manfredo?

Jr batters Gomez to a late rd stoppage. Gomez is a welterweight, he has no business fighting at 160lbs

He fought in a 5 rounds vs Brinkley while he fought 7 rounds vs Manfredo. Whyelse Gomez went down to ww after that tv show? Easy cause he knows he don't belong at middleweight.

I don't think highly of Chavez Jr. but I expect Gomez to be completey destroyed before the championship rounds.

I would say Duddy isn't better than Manfredo or Brinkley. But yes, Gomez's best weight is Welterweight. It would shock me if the fight isn't at least competitive despite the size disadvantage he's dealing with though. Jr hasn't really fought anyone that has the all-around boxing ability of Gomez.

I agree 100%. I won't be surprised at all if Junior finds himself in the fight of his life.
