Seriously, this is the style of boxer that pushes casual fans away from the sport. It's great to see a guy who has boxing skills, but most people enjoy watching boxers who can actually hurt their opponent. It is the fight game, not a points karate match. Algeri is like Magliani and spadafora. They all stink up the place. I hope someone brutally ko's this boxing man.
I would venture to say a small minority enjoy it. Put him in a ppv without a big named opponent and see if he gets over 100 buys. Most people won't pay for that style of fighting.

He's not a PPV fighter, but I went to the fight last night, and he had a pretty good following in Barclays for such an unknown fighter. I like his style. He's a bit flashy, rangy, good jab. good speed. but just vulnerable enough that it keeps you on the edge of your seat. I enjoyed myself

I am in total agreement with you on this one, as it relates to Algieri. I enjoy some pure boxers but it is rare. Jimmy Young was a highly entertaining boxer who showed sensational skills and beat some big names. But, for me, he was entertaining. He wasn't a runner at all. He was an incredible counterpuncher. I love good counterpunchers but hate runners. Both are boxers in the true sense of the word but are world's apart.
I wouldn't say he's boring and sure as hell wouldn't say he's exciting. He's got heart and made a good fight but he's not someone people are going to get excited about. And if you are, you're full of ****, and just want to stand out by being in the minority.
No one is saying he's a Pacquiao, or a Roy. But he isn't Gamboa or Miguel Vasquez either, and anyone who's saying he is, is full of **** and is too scared of being in the minority. Well, I would say that is because the man he fought had no diversity of skills or enough intelligence to be able to do something about it. Provodnikov made it more boring of the two by stalking like a mindless zombie and stepping into every jab. Blame the guy who lost for a one sided fight, not the guy who laid leather on him from start to finish.
