The Lousville Group had him up thru the Liston bouts. I do believe the Alejandro Lavorante fight was on the up-n-up. Also, 'old man river' Archie Moore. A bout that should have never been sanctioned. That bout was a pay-off for Archie. He made some good money on that fight, thanks to Cassius Clay. The Charlie Powell fight,,,,,,,,,something wasn't right about that one. Powell was pulling his right hand punches.

it's sad that many in japan (and possibly inoki himself) have claimed that those "stellar" leg kicks were responsible for the decrease in ali's mobility in his latter career

bang on. inoki was a reasonable grappler but the fight was done from the start. inoki wouldn't budge on gloves, ali wouldn't budge on the rules and parameters. from every report i've read, they did agree from the beginning to take it easy on each with the rules favouring a boring, indecisive decision.

Though 9-6-2 (5 KO's) Lost his last 4-bouts (1953 thru 1955) He was now living in Miami, Florida,,,,,,,as muscle for the loan-sharks. Cassius Clay was hitting him, but not doing any damage what-so-ever. The Referee Mike Kaplan stopped the fight. Cries of 'fix' and 'fake' were yelled by the fight watchers.
This has been common knowledge for years. What do you think 99.999999% of fighters are in the game for? Glory? Money talks and he was getting more money for this than at any other time in his career.
