him I seem to remember Lewis unable to KO Holyfield who weighed around 220 the same weight as Ali and was only a inch shorter .. so what make you think Lewis can do what , liston , frazer, forman , norton, shavers , big cat williams etc. couldn't do all these guy were boxing big puncher in the history of the sport and none of them ever KOed Ali..
You dumb *******. Ali was way past his prime in '75. Watch a 60's Ali and then come back and apologize. Is Holyfield overrated because he lost to Ibragimov as well? Try watching the fighters you comment about at their best before making an ass of yourself.
this thread is ****ing crazy ... he may not be p4p no.1 but he certainly is the top heavy based on resume, add that to h2h and he rarely will stray far from the top 2,yes he was not the phenom that some people believe him to be but he was 'that' good,he beat the best heavyweights in a generation of great heavyweights and his h2h ability stands up to even the great superhws of our time.some people on here have come close to saying he was ****,to that i would say watch your ****ing mouth and wise the **** up,he was a great fighter who transcended the sport in a manner only tyson has come close to,he was an icon and is a legend.
Yes I can still see that punch that Foreman landed on himself to knock himself out atsch So now entering a fight with a gameplan should limit the amount of credit you get for implementing it???? ****, well since B-Hop recognized that giving Tito angles and not allowing himself to set....oh and throwing the PR flag on the ground and showing no respect at the press conferences got into Tito's head. So I don't give Hopkins credit for that win :deal I mean you really have to elaborate on this. Then explain how he could beat a prime Foreman by getting into his head, but he couldn't beat the mental midget who is Mike Tyson?????
Isn't a huge part of boxing mental warfare? So now because Ali murdered Foreman in this department, he doesn't get credit for beating him???? How about this? Foreman had knocked his previous 12 opponents out in less then 5 rounds leading up to the Ali fight. Prior to that he had only been past 5 rounds 5 times in his professional career. So when Ali dragged him into what was deep water for him, being 8 rounds he "drowned him". I'm tired of hearing "oh well Foreman was trying to knock him out so hard, he punched himself out....blah blah blah" Well almost everyone else he TRIED to knock out, he did including Joe Frazier and Ken Norton in 2 rounds each.
Ali is the greatest, In he's prime he was fast as a middelweight, how dare you to compare him with vlad!
Maybe Ali was a bit overrated and you might have an argument there but to say he would be beat by today's Heavy's is hilarious. MAYBE a prime 22 year old Tyson might take him but thats about it.
Tyson wouldnt have beat him, he wud have got frustrated after chasing him for 6 rounds whilst eating the piston, tryed clinchin and biting somethin off him, then got levelled whilst walking onto a big right.
Different Era's.. Ali was the Greatest during his time, no question about it. he beat them ALL. I always held Mike Tyson as Modern day Jack Dempsy/Joe Louis. (Now that's a guy who was born too late, Imagine Tyson in those times.)
Not on the fight, but it does on your argument about the fight. It goes against your ridiculous position that having and implementing a game plan should in some bogus way diminish the credit you deserve. Yeah it was all of that that made foreman go out and look for the KO, and it was all of that that made him tired :nut :nut :nut atsch What would he of done otherwise, try and stick and move with Ali....hope for a points victory?????? I posted above, he had only been past 5 rounds like 6 times in his entire career. He was coming off a ****ing BRUTAL demolision of Frazier inside 2 rounds and also a 2 round win over Norton. The entire world thought he would kill Ali as soon as the fight was announced and before the mind games began.....you don't think he thought he would also??? Confident as could be? So is the bully in school until some little kid punches him square in the nose and refuses to give up his money. He was carefully managed, his ENTIRE career. Berbick was scared shitless and Spinks was a wet dream of a matchup for him. So you don't think he was mentally weak back then :rofl :rofl :rofl It just didn't show because he was CONFIDENT and hadn't been tested or stood up to yet. Get a grip dude! Because Joe Frazier is some kind of bum right atsch
Imagine Liston in this era, man is HE underrated now, he would be knocking out bums all over the place these days.....
Certainly not, what, with all the quality contenders we have on the heavyweight scene right now, they would be mere journeymen. Oscar Bonavena UD titleholder Shannon Briggs.
Hey man Liston / Tyson watch ya mouth *****, ive seen the lot n got the lot, done my background work, ya not got a sense of humour like, dant talk like that man...... To be honest Tyson the only one who wud got near him, coz to get to him ya got be able to get inside, and nobody got inside better than Tyson.
