I posted a video where Harry Carpenter shows picture of a glove during 4th round and glove is cut but i guess in you little brain famous British commentator is biased towards Ali atsch ,no i think it was 45 minutes between rounds lol so every video is edited just so the british fans to bee pissed off right??? since no one cares about Cooper except brits since he was great legend there because of knockdown atsch

 

I cant believe I'm trying to explain something to low life hater and a moron, but here is Harry Carpenter with Mike Tyson talking about heavyweights, and imagine Carpenter British BBC boxing and sport in general long time reporter doesnt agree with you at all and doesnt mention anything about time between rounds because it was normal, and even here show picture of glove cut during 4th round and not by Angelo!!!

at 2:25 listen what the Harry Carpenter says and he watched fight live and is not biased and hater like you, and i expect very smart answer that BBC doesnt have full fight video or something like that.

However, never do they seem to show film of the very moment Cooper speaks so passionately about. Without exception, at least on the television programmes Henry has been invited to be on in the U.K, as soon as the audience begins to cheer at the left hook and the knockdown it brings the camera switches back to present day and Henry's beaming face. Why on earth do they never let the film roll and allow us all to see what Cooper claims to have happened with our own eyes?

We are supposed to believe that a badly shaken Clay remains slumped on his stool for as long as two and a half minutes or more while officials go in search for new boxing gloves. I'm sure every fan knows of the famous story that tells of the necessity for new gloves.

There is just no way this fantasy version of events ever took place. There would have been a near riot if Cooper's fans had been subject to the incredible frustration of having to watch their man's greatest shot at glory being spoilt due to such a long break between rounds.

but what happened immediately after is vastly different from what Cooper claims. What actually happened is this;

These are the facts and surely any interviewer on T.V, when having Cooper tell his story, could very easily prove to all that his recollections are wrong. But of course, such behaviour would be classed as bad form, embarrassing a British boxing legend in such a way. Indeed, Henry has probably told his story so many times he believes it himself now.

The bell rang for round five and Clay went out far more seriously than he had been previously that evening ,when he had clowned a lot and fought pretty much at his leisure so as to make good with his fifth round win prediction. Clay hadn't got a prediction correct in quite some time and therefore wanted to do so against "This bum Cooper". This is the only reason he got hit in the first place. That he carried Cooper as he did allowed the Brit more time and the overly cocky Clay paid the price in the fourth. If he'd been all business from the outset he would have despatched Cooper in around three rounds. Of this I am certain. Cooper's cuts poured like wine and the ref stopped the fight. There was no anger from the crowd at this time, nor was anyone talking about an extra long break that benefited Cassius Clay. This talk came later. Over the years the fight slipped into mythical status and this myth grew and grew. Amazingly, some people actually still buy into Cooper's claims.

As we know, there was a rematch and again Ali won. I could understand the long life of the mythological story from the first fight if Ali had avoided Cooper from then on, but this wasn't the case. I'm just amazed that to this day, 2006, some people still believe Henry Cooper's side of the story. As for Henry still telling the story; well, I suppose you cannot really blame him. It was after all his finest moment, knocking down "The Greatest", even though at the time Ali was an underdeveloped youngster who was still some way from his peak years. Still, it was an achievement nonetheless, to put him on the floor, it's just a shame Henry has to embellish his great moment with fantasy. ​

am i wrong or Carpenter is the most famous British sports commentator of that time??? and was present fight night??? if he doesnt have a problem with that fight why should you.

 

I answered some quicker threads , took a dump and intended (and still do) 2 view that Tyson interview b4 replying .
I also had some plans about d colored parts in that interview but I guess it will have 2 wait 4 another day .
It is not that I had nothing 2 say about d yellow either

I saw the original fight video years ago, and I remember the chaos in the ring as Dundee messed about with Clay's glove and got him an extended rest period between rounds, and now, incredibly, in true Orwellian-Bolshevik style, they are attempting to erase it from the history books and likewise attempting to besmirch those of us who actually remember it!

You are posting article where writter said multiple times that it did not happen how Cooper dreamed and lied about it for years, Ali is known for wins over Frazier Formean, Liston, Paterson...and Henry boy is known for knockdown in a fight that he lost LOL

 

Even if Clay alias Ali got only an extra six seconds as it says above that is six seconds too much. The rules do not make a provision to give extra critical seconds to a fighter who is badly hurt so that he can recover.

Clay alias Ali is the biggest hype job since Gaylord Gaye. He won so many of his fights by cheating one way or another.

 

Few seconds more between rounds is nothing uncommon it happens in many fights.

 

But if a hurt fighter sat on his stool for six seconds after the bell rang the ref would call the fight off, so why should he get a pass because he has a criminal cornerman who is doing some schtick pretending to do this and that?
