Definatly the greatest win was Foreman, closely followed by Frazier, I think the best fighter also has to be Foreman, brute strength but I also think Frazier was a great fighter as well so. But people mainly say yeah Ali fought Liston, Frazier, Foreman, but they forget the Chuvalo, Williams, Terrell, Folley, Quarry, Bonavena, Norton, Shavers etc list goes on. All these fighters would be champs, or been near top now and in the last two decades (maybe not as good as Lewis). This shows his resume is the greatest of all times.
His resume is full of talent, there are a number of fighters that you can make a case for. The best opponent he ever fought was Frazier from the FOTC. His best victory was over Foreman.
best win has to be over foreman. foreman, at that time, looked indestructible. he was like an unstoppable force. nobody was giving ali a chance. foreman was, and still is arguably the most devastating puncher of all time. then ali came out and embarassed him.
fair enough I agree with you... just as an example though... ali fought a guy in foreman who was what... 30lbs heavier than him? floyd won't go near mosley or cotto...he wants marquez... a featherweight at 147.
What flavour are the bus windows today? Absolute gobshite that brings out all my worst mysoginistic tendecies.
Frazier x2 Norton x2 Liston x2 Patterson x2 Quarry x2 Foreman Lyle Young Shavers Chuvalo Jones Folley Williams Cooper Mildenberger Spinks Moore That resume for any fighter at any weight spread over nearly 20 years with a near 4 year break in the middle takes some beating.
**** Joe Bloggs. Liston has the most devastating pair out of all the great champions. Liston cleaned out the entire division, he matched single available top contender was matched aside from Johannson, who refused to meat him outside Sweden. Liston was matching contender types from his sixth fight, and continued to mix it at the very top until 1970, the year of his death. Liston has TWO losses on his record that occured during his prime. They are to the greatest HW who ever lived, who also happens to be his stylistic cryptonite. This is a clasic case of a poster browsing boxrec, not recognising names, and mouthing off. S.T.F.U.
George Foreman is probably Ali's best win, very impressive stuff. The best fighter he fought was Frazier I for me.
