how do you rate this guy? thoughts on a possible emelianenko fight? the aerts fight? etc monstrous fighter but not the greatest technician,credit for the aerts win but peter is looking decidedly sloppy these days,i think he fares better in k1 rather than MMA... your thoughts please?
I think Overeem would have to have a couple more MMA fights in the US to give a proper evaluation of his chances against Emelianenko. But if he could keep his ridiculous size and pass the drug tests he'd definitely be a huge threat to any heavyweight. He has : A decent groundgame and a great guillotine. Improved cardio because he doesn't have to cut weight anymore. After his success in K1, I think it would be fair to say, that he has the best standup credentials of any top HW in MMA. And with his added size, I'd say that his chin should be sturdier, but I'm not 100% sure about that.
Overeem's face is all bloated. He looks like Belfort did back when he fought Couture for the first time and was probably still on the juice.
Speaking of him, when was the last time he actually fought in the US? When he last defended his SF HW title? I'm sure he could get round the tests...
