Rhodes definitely has a better chance than Hatton. He just has to be smart enough to get alvarez walking onto big shots cos a stoppage is the only way he will win. Alvarez should outwork him meaning a pts win on away soil is pretty much unthinkable

I have to say, P-Dub will come through everything, throw too many punches, and decimate Alvarez at some point.

If he puts it together nicely early, as he did against Quintana, Kolle (and was competitive with Martinez in both 1st sessions of their fight) I wouldn't rule out Williams blitzing him.

Dunno if Alvarez is 'there' yet (or ever will be)

I wouldn't fancy his chances against Williams. He would be all wrong for Alvarez.

I agree, Rhodes needs a good gameplan and composure, he can stop this guy, JMC had him on ***** street.

    Canello has a kirkland chin

I think there is an uncertainty of where Alvarez will go due to his age and quality of opposition but i do think he will be a title holder for a long time but he isnt the next big thing. Somebody with a decent chin a bit of movement and a decent punch at elite level will sort him out i would expect him at the top level against the cottos, williams Cintrons etc to go 50/50 win losses in those fights at the top level which is no shame but doesnt = future ATG

Although he's growing, I also doubt that he's a genuine 11-stone fighter yet. Seasoning+size should be enough to get rid of him at this stage IMO.

Depends what you call competitive. Is soundly losing the round and taking plenty of the left hooks that went on to spark him shortly after competitive? :think

Ryan Rhodes ain't gonna win this fight I'm afraid. He went life and death with Jamie Moore.

That's right. You have seen who Rhodes fought in his last few fights?
At least Alvarez has beaten guys in the top 100:lol:

Cintron’s pretty fast and isn’t easily out-boxed. Consider he’s only lost to two people really – Margarito and Martinez (the Williams “decision” was a farce) – and it’s clear he’s no slouch.

His mental weaknesses only come into play if he’s seriously pressured, which we haven’t seen Alvarez do really. That’s a decent fight, but Cintron still bangs hard… bit of a risk for GBP to take on Canelo, I’d say. Better to rack up the guys like Rhodes and hope to extend the run until he’s a proper fighter.
