Yeah, congrats to Thurman. Impressive win imo. Congrats to Zaveck to survive some hard blows that many guys would get KOed.

What to say...as a Zaveck fan i guess im not happy but Jan was just unrecognizable. He just couldnt come close to Keith...never happend that someone put more then half puches more then Zaveck..but again Dejan keep coming forward.

Anyway imo Zaveck need to seek fight in Europe..he can still be the best european WW boxer (if we dont count Kell). Maybe call from America will still come but doubt as co main event or main event.

Still see Randall Bailey vs Zaveck in Slovenia if it happens...Randall is much more static as Thurman was all over the ring.

In a week or two should be know the next opponent for Zaveck...he will either fight for IBF inter. belt or European cham. belt.

Holder of IBF Inter. belt is atm Jojo Dan (32W-2L) and EU belt has Leonard Bundu (30W-0L).

Jojo is bigger name but Italian Bundu would bring lots of Slovenians coming to support Zaveck...

Bundu is the more reward lesser risk opponent of the two Euro Latinos

Jo-Jo Dan two losses to Aydin are close calls that favored Aydin...he is really Top 10 WW, Win over Bundu higher ranking & undefeated record should be exactly what Zaveck needs to come back to the top :bbb

Bundu is a tricky ol SOB...Dan is also a tricky SOB.

I like Zaveck, he's a nice guy and everything but those fights are both stylistically bad for him :(

Bundu is the easier of the two & the higher ranked bigger name.

Zaveck still an underdog though :smoke

Dont know how much fuel Zaveck still has it due to his elbow injuries that he basicly has to go under surgery every year and loses a half year on that...but i would, as Slovenian, love to see him fight against Bundu..sort of Slovenian -Italian rivaly. Beside i heard Bundu won Zaveck in amaters...

Then again Jan wants to fight one more time in USA and i guess thats then Dan as option.

What ever he choose, if it comes to a fight, he needs to win if he wants to get to a contender spot again. Doubt he would continue his career at 38 if he L...

I think Berto vs Zaveck 2 should be made..but more i think that Andre would just go for easier fight right now as he needs to win to get his career back on track.

Im sure Zaveck would swim over if needed for that fight!

Nice return after 1 year of Slovenian boxer and former WW IBF would champion Jan Zaveck (Dejan Zavec). Jan (34 (19KO) - 3) beat Hungarian Ferenc Hafner (23 (12KO) - 6) with TKO in round 7 with body shots. Hungarian also had closed right eye. This win brought Zaveck a WBO European light middleweight title. Zaveck is at the moment 38 but still want to box for 2 years. Still catching an oportunity to fight in USA thats why hire Lou DiBella as new promoter overseas.

Yesterday Jan Zaveck won an WBF World Super Welterweight championship and holds now beside that also WBO European SWW belt. Yesterday he won in a bloody fight (Zaveck was headbutted in 1st round by opponent) and manage to outbox all 12 rounds and won by unanimous decision again Sasha Yengoyan (Belgian - Armenian boxer who was #12 in Boxrec SWW). Check the the fight below infront of 5000 Slovenian fans... Go Dejan!

Very happy for my countryman Jan Zaveck (35-3) landing another World title fight this time against WBA Super Welterweight champion Erislandry Lara (21-2-2) of Cuba. Can Jan become a two division champ?

Seen many talking badly about Zaveck and that it is going to be easy night for Lara but a quick reminder..Zaveck was never down in his pro career..never KD or KO so far.

Go Dejan, you deserve that fight.

His victory over Yengohan was impressive.

Lara will be much too much though.

Hopefully he gets a nice cheque for this fight, and can retire with something
