Super six was awsome as a one off tournament but to have the tournament ona regular basis would mean serious restructuring. Although it was a success i dont think its something that can be done on a regular basis.

If you want the best to fight the best then it should happen once every 2 years.

I intended for this thread to just talk about the idea of a super 6 or a super 8. but I cant be mad at you for commenting on my list because I made a list for most divisions and the heat from my opinion on who should be in the super 6 or super 8 was an inevitable.

to answer your question as to why I have stiverne on my list is because stivern is a good fighter and he has fast hands for a heavyweight and a solid jab for a small heavyweight and he is good at setting up his punches.

He has beaten decent opposition and he is one heavyweight that was kinda due for a title shot. as a matter of fact I beleive he might be a mandatory. But anyway He is definetly a guy that is in the heavyweight picture.

(not saying he will beat wlad or vitali)

but he deserved to be in the picture.

Everyone knows Dirrell was winning, but there was always a chance of KO.

And this whole thread is a brilliant idea, unfortunately due to how finances are set in boxing you will never get people earning decent amounts of money off pay per view in these tournaments, but as someone else said before regular tournaments for people who need to get their name out there would be brilliant for the boxers as well as the fans.

no.it's a **** ideea.you'd end up having hot prospects or decent fighters acused they ducked the tourney and **** like that.every man should choose their opponent so we can see who's a stay at home cherrypicker disgrace and who isn't.

It could work if it took place over a short amount of time, with all fights and venues pre booked. What happens to fighters that miss out that were mandatory or were not quite established enough but would have easily have had the quality to enter. I dont think it conceivable to have so many fighters just ticking over waiting for the tournament to finish. Froch was in the super 6 for almost 2 and half years and so was Ward. Certain titles are going to be unavailable for years on end to mandatory challengers, a back log would build up ending with the Champions just vacating belts. A super 8 tournament would potentally last over 3 years which is ridiculous.

If the tourny happened again each fighter would need to be in the ring every 3 months which would take a lot careful planning and co-operation with promoters. Boxing is not a straight forward enough sport for that to happen. Promoters clash regularly, fighters pull out and get injured, fighters would clash over things such as home advantage. olympic style testing would need to brought in since some fighters clearly cannot be trusted to stay away for PEDS. Unfortunately as fun as the last tourny was (it was fantastic) it also left behind some serious snagging problems and question marks in my eyes anyway with regards to how boxing is run.:good

id say once every 2 years because between each super 6 or 8 it gives times for certain fighters to develop and for there to be some new faces every 2 years depending on the state of that division. Kinda like a post amateur kind of olympics.

true with a guy like abraham he fight aint over untill the end of the 12th.

but Im tired of people saying that dirrell is a ***** as if your expected to get up easy from a CLEAN abraham hit on the chin while your down. and not only that, after that fight he was inactive for almost a whole year and a half. a fighter of his caliber could have 2 big payday fights between that.

theres no logical reason for him to ***** out and fake being hurt and be inactive for over a year and a half. even if theyre a ***** theyre gonna wanna fight for that period of time.

    Look at judah for example.

People just have soo big of a need for a villian or to call some1 a ***** without putting themselves in that situation or thinking about simple ****ing logic.
