Exactly your problem right now. The wrap has got to do with energy and physics

This is exactly your problem. You start a thread acting like you're some bigshot expert, dropping names and vids....and refuse to accept others guidance.

I am an expert. There is no act. My accomplishments, time on the job, and education speak for that. Where did I drop names? Did I post a video instructional on wrapping hands? NO! If Manny Steward or Freddie Roach was in here offering insight I would do what any person with a modicum of intelligence would do... keep my mouth shut, and my ears open. If my opinion conflicted with theres I would simply ask them to explain why they do what they do the way that they do it, and to show me where I may be making a mistake. It's called having an open mind. Which happens to be another sign of true intelligence.
The videos were at the request of another poster in the forum. You ought to try informing yourself adequately on the subject at hand before speaking on it.

As I stated earlier... there are trainers that wrap hands better then others. That should be obvious to anyone. Some know how to make a wrap harder then others. Yes kinetic energy is involved, but what you are failing to realize is that kinetic energy doesn't travel in one direction only. It will also be transferred to the fist. Which is why I favor a wrap that has more of a cushioning affect to help absorb the kinetic energy that will inevitably be transferred to the small bones of the hand n wrist.
A harder wrap may add a small increase in a fighters ability to inflict superficial damage to the face of the opponent (cuts and bruises) but in all likelihood he will be putting his hands at risk as well.
Punching power, and knockouts do not increase based on hand wraps. Mike Tyson, James Kirkland, Alexis Argeullo, and Julian Jackson didn't knock people out because of how there hands are wrapped.
Here is another myth I'll bust for you all. The "Reyes are the punchers glove" myth. They don't make you punch harder. Reyes gloves have the padding distributed differently then other gloves. With little focus on the face of the fist. IE for superficial damage, and most likely more damage to the hands.
If any of you are boxers... trust in my advice... make sure your hands are well protected. A good wrap and good gloves to help absorb the kinetic energy that will be transferred into your hands. If your hands are wrapped properly and you are wearing good gloves you will have 100% confidence in punching as hard as possible.

Most Pro boxers have power so if you can increase the power even slightly it can (not always) increase the amount of KO's.
As you said it can inflict more damage cuts etc... but fights are often stopped because of cuts.

I agree that they have punching power so the wrap wouldn't make a difference to them but COULD make a difference to those who are above average in power by getting a few more KO's

Punching power is an attribute that seems to have no visible explanation. My young amateur is 5'9 n fights at 119-123 lbs. If you (not meaning you personally) looked at him you would think "that kid can't crack n egg." WRONG! When I do pads with him I use a body protector so he can punch to my body so as to more accurately represent actually body punching. Even through a body protector it still hurts. Im 6'1 245 lbs.
Im not trying to be a dick in disagreeing with you. trust me when I tell you the only advantage you may get out of a hard wrap is some extra superficial damage.... which of course can lead to a stoppage, but not a ko. Talk to some fighters... I am pretty confident that most will tell you that they want a wrap that makes them feel safe in punching full force.
IS a good wrap and advantage? yes. Are some trainers better at it? Yes. Is that an unfair advantage? No. It's like saying a fighter that trains harder has an unfair advantage, or a fighter that maintains a better diet has an unfair advantage, or a fighter that seeks out tough sparring has an advantage.
I see what you are saying when you illustrate your opinion, and you make a valid point. I just feel like you over estimate the end result.
if you train fighters... trust in my advice. Make sure the wrist is secure, knuckles are well padded, and most importantly make sure he can close his fist as tightly as possible. End result... a well protected hand, and a fighter that feels confident in punching as a hard as he can... end result? MORE KO'S

There we go, Mr Bigshot know it all.

For someone with so much confidence, you sure spend a lot of time and energy trying to impress a bunch of people on a internet boxing forum about your "knowledge".

If you have so much of a problem with rules regarding hand-wraps, why don't you go prove your vast knowledge to the boxing commissions and prove to them that they are wrong? Instead you just spout off on a boxing forum.

I suggest you go take a course on reading comprehension. Never did I once address the rules on hand wraps, or the commissions that oversee them. My comments are directed towards those that attribute the success of particular boxers, and the KO's boxers achieve to the way there hands are wrapped.
I'm not trying to "impress" anyone. I don't find a discussion about hand wraps to be of a particularly impressive nature. It's just an often misunderstood subject which is many times discussed.
I enjoy helping boxing fans, or a novice trainer better understand the world of boxing. That's definitely worth some time and energy. You on the other hand come on here and waste time and energy offering nothing more then insults and personal attacks.

Fair enough. Just gets to be boorish when people attribute the success of a fighters whole career to nothing more then how his hands are wrapped.

I enjoy a friendly debate... difference of opinion. It usually ends in a better understanding by both parties of the subject at hand.

Yeah, similar to when someone says "it was a lucky punch." No such thing.
