    Alvarez, if he'd have just stuck to what he was doing and managed to keep that level up to a degree he would have made it very hard for the judges to go against him. After 5 rounds I believed even more that he could do it, against all the odds of having to put on unnecessary pounds to make the Golden Boy catchweight against an Alvarez probably at the peak of his Clen days, weighing in like a light heavy on the night of the fight. When I think about it the whole thing was ridiculous, even before we knew that Alvarez was cheating and putting opposition in danger. That was the first time Khan had been stopped where he hadn't tried to carry on, it was a sickening KO and took a hell of a lot out of him but for me I gained admiration for the way he boxed in that fight up until the KO.

    Khan was very good in that fight and probably the best he has boxed before his chin was smashed.

    Watching it it was like the penny had finally dropped for him and he realised that the fast hands were going to be far more useful than having a tear up and risking that chin, especially against a guy way over a stone heavier. Then he forgot and, for me, Alvarez ended his career.

    That KO was brutal and one certainly is never the same after taking that punch.

    Hide always got up for more, I admired that, especially being a Cruiser having to go up against those bigger guys
